By Wilson Macaulay Warri, Delta State – April 30, 2025 The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is facing mounting pressure to finalize the ward delineation process in Warri Federal Constituency, as influential Ijaw and Urhobo leaders jointly accused unnamed political actors of attempting to subvert a court-backed electoral reform. At a press conference in Warri on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 the coalition of Ijaw and Urhobo leaders said that INEC’s field data — which confirms the Ijaw majority in Warri North and South-West and Urhobo dominance in Warri South — must be the basis for any delineation, not what they described as “manipulated voters’ registers.” They cautioned that failure to follow due process could spark unrest, while demanding a halt to voters registration and electoral activities until proper delineation exercise is completed.
