By Wilson Macaulay

The leadership of the Host Communities of Nigeria , Producing Oil and Gas HOSTCOM Urhobo Ethnic Nationality have made a compassionate appeal to President Muhammadu Buhari to swear in the  Pius Odubu and Bernard Okumagba led board that has been screened by the Senate before the issue of Interim Management Committee arose.

Comrade Andrew Agoyo HOSTCOM Urhobo Nation Chairman in an  open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari made available to our correspondent  lamented  over the corruption saga that is currently  rocking the NDDC since the public hearing on the Commission's  Interim Management Committee began recently.

The HOSTCOM Urhobo Leader emphasized in his message to Mr President that,  the foul odour of the can of worms oozing from NDDC Management Staff and the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs is worrisome and unacceptable, as their actions clearly demonstrate their insensitivity to the welfare  of the people they are entrusted to serve in the best interest of the Niger Delta region which is currently in a sorry state.

Comrade Chief Andrew Agoyo , the Chairman HOSTCOM Urhobo Nation called on President Muhammadu Buhari to do away with the IMC which  he described as  a bunch of disgrace to the Niger Delta People who constituted themselves as cogs in the wheel of progress.

According to Comrade Agoyo ,the Urhobo HOSTCOM Chair, the selfish interest of some few individuals is not enough to jeopardize the collective destiny of the Niger Delta people, hence the call to clear the Commission of these fraudulent and unguided  people who are on a mission to acquire  the commonwealth of the Niger Delta people by every crooked means possible.

Speaking further, the Group Chairman said: "if this dirty habit  of the likes of  Godswill Akpabio, Prof Pondei and Cairo Ojougboh is  not checked now,  the  development of the Niger Delta will remain a pipe dream " .

He stressed that, Corruption must be tackled head long no  matter whose ox is gored, adding that, only punitive measures taken against thieves of our Common wealth like it is done in China will be the  panacea to stop the ugly trend in our nation Nigeria.

Agoyo the Urhobo HOSTCOM Chair argued that it will be very good to use some public enemies as example for others to learn by giving them the treatment that will discourage public servants  from threading on the path of corruption.  He  regretted that in our country, you will see the masters of the game of corruption  coming to twist justice shamelessly to set corrupt public officers free from going to jail by financially greasing the judicial authorities  that are presiding and  they are celebrated as brilliant lawyers to the doom of our collective well being.

PTI Defends Its Reputation Against Misleading Sahara Media Report By Wilson Macaulay Effurun, Delta State July 12 2025 The Management of the prestigious Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, has vehemently refuted a sensational and malicious report published by Sahara Reporters on July 10, 2025, which alleged that students of the foremost oil and gas institution study in “flooded classrooms and snake-infested hostels” despite a ₦39 billion budget. Describing the publication as “baseless, mischievous, and an orchestrated attempt to malign the integrity of the institution,” PTI Management said the report is not only factually inaccurate but also a deliberate attack on the hard-earned reputation and progress of the institution under its current leadership. In a strongly worded statement issued on Friday, the management declared: > “There are absolutely no flooded classrooms or snake-infested hostels within the Institute. These claims are complete fabrications devoid of any evidence or truth.” Management further challenged Sahara Reporters to produce any verifiable photographic or video proof to substantiate its claims. > “If such conditions exist as alleged, Sahara Reporters should have no difficulty presenting concrete evidence. Until then, their report remains a reckless misrepresentation aimed at misleading the public.” PTI clarified that all its lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, and hostels are structurally sound, properly ventilated, electrically powered, and routinely maintained. The Institute prides itself on maintaining a safe and conducive academic environment for learning, innovation, and professional development in the oil and gas sector. The management in clear terms described the publication as the work of “unscrupulous elements seeking to sow discord and cast aspersions on the steady infrastructural development PTI has recorded in recent years.” As a center of excellence in petroleum training and manpower development, PTI has, under its current administration, seen remarkable transformation in terms of physical infrastructure, digital modernization, and student welfare programs. The Institute continues to attract local and international recognition for its cutting-edge research and high-impact training curriculum. While assuring stakeholders, parents, and the general public of its unwavering commitment to the safety and welfare of its students, the management reiterated its call for responsible journalism and urged media practitioners to verify facts before rushing to publication. “We remain focused on our mandate and will not be distracted by smear campaigns designed to derail our progress.”
