Group Urges Mike Igini To Forgive John Mayaki Over APC Failed Character Assassination Plot.

Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Akwa Ibom State, Mike Igini, Esq has been urged to forgive the infamous Director of Communication, Ize-Iyamu Campaign Organisation, Mr John Mayaki, over failed character assassination plot by the Edo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

President of Agbon Peace and Economic Transformation Initiative, APETRI, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe Esq, made the appeal in a statement on Saturday 26th December, saying that the public apology by Mayaki goes to show that Igini's integrity cannot be faulted by an overzealous politician who knew next to nothing in political propaganda and electioneering communication strategies.

It will be recalled that Mayaki and Edo APC during the 2020 gubernatorial election alleged that Igini visited Obaseki in Benin and went home with sacks of money, so as to declare him winner of the election.

Like Donald Trump like John Mayaki, it turned out to be fake news, a character assassination plot hatched by Ize-Iyamu Campaign Organization. Igini sued Mayaki and others. And on Christmas day, Mayaki apologized publicly via a statement.

Oghenesivbe, assured that Urhobo Nation and indeed Nigerians will always be proud of Igini's unblemished public service, especially for his patriotism and enviable contributions towards the nation's political stability cum credible elections, adding that he is one of the few reliable and transparent INEC Commissioners in the country.

"Mr John Mayaki has finally inhaled the very stench he intended for a noble man, and decided to tender his public apology on Christmas day. For this reason,  APETRI is appealing to our brother, a proud Deltan, a detribalised Nigerian and illustrious son of Urhobo Nation, in the person of Igini to forgive his detractors in the spirit of Christmas.

"Mayaki and his paymasters should know that to go against a divine mandate will always amount to unattainable desires, and therefore self inflicted injury is unavoidable; especially conspiracy calculated to turn black to white, as can be seen from the pursuit of futility by Mayaki and his co-travellers while trying to sell a Christian cum Muslim ratified governorship candidate.

"Mayaki and his partners in fake news and gross misinformation must of a necessity pick up Mike Igini's legal bills and do the needful to further pacify him.

"It is obvious that the plot to unjustly assassinate the enviable character and solid integrity of Igini failed woefully. He is a man of impeccable character and uncommon integrity," the group affirmed.

PTI Defends Its Reputation Against Misleading Sahara Media Report By Wilson Macaulay Effurun, Delta State July 12 2025 The Management of the prestigious Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, has vehemently refuted a sensational and malicious report published by Sahara Reporters on July 10, 2025, which alleged that students of the foremost oil and gas institution study in “flooded classrooms and snake-infested hostels” despite a ₦39 billion budget. Describing the publication as “baseless, mischievous, and an orchestrated attempt to malign the integrity of the institution,” PTI Management said the report is not only factually inaccurate but also a deliberate attack on the hard-earned reputation and progress of the institution under its current leadership. In a strongly worded statement issued on Friday, the management declared: > “There are absolutely no flooded classrooms or snake-infested hostels within the Institute. These claims are complete fabrications devoid of any evidence or truth.” Management further challenged Sahara Reporters to produce any verifiable photographic or video proof to substantiate its claims. > “If such conditions exist as alleged, Sahara Reporters should have no difficulty presenting concrete evidence. Until then, their report remains a reckless misrepresentation aimed at misleading the public.” PTI clarified that all its lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, and hostels are structurally sound, properly ventilated, electrically powered, and routinely maintained. The Institute prides itself on maintaining a safe and conducive academic environment for learning, innovation, and professional development in the oil and gas sector. The management in clear terms described the publication as the work of “unscrupulous elements seeking to sow discord and cast aspersions on the steady infrastructural development PTI has recorded in recent years.” As a center of excellence in petroleum training and manpower development, PTI has, under its current administration, seen remarkable transformation in terms of physical infrastructure, digital modernization, and student welfare programs. The Institute continues to attract local and international recognition for its cutting-edge research and high-impact training curriculum. While assuring stakeholders, parents, and the general public of its unwavering commitment to the safety and welfare of its students, the management reiterated its call for responsible journalism and urged media practitioners to verify facts before rushing to publication. “We remain focused on our mandate and will not be distracted by smear campaigns designed to derail our progress.”
