Omo -Agege's Achievement: A Challenge To Ijaw Lawmakers Says Mulade

 Comrade Sheriff Mulade  ,Niger Delta born environmentalist and peace advocate,  has commended the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, for standing firm for Delta Central and the rest parts of the State, as well as for his recent achievement of securing Senate approval and endorsement for Abraka as a constituency.

Comrade Mulade, an Ijaw activist from Gbaramatu Kingdom, expressed disappointment at some Ijaw political office holders from Delta State over what he described as a docile attitude, unproductive representation and selfish politics of amassing wealth to keep recycling themselves and family members in political offices without attracting development to their communities. 

He also  challenged Ijaw politicians/lawmakers to lobby the Senate and House of Representatives to site a Federal Polytechnic at the Bomadi/Patani axis and persuade relevant institutions and bodies to attract development and growth to the area.

 

Chief  Sheriff  Mulade further called on Ijaw political leaders to be more proactive in order to attract legacy projects that will stand the test of time. 

He emphasized that such projects would help to immortalize them ,.

Hr pointed  out that  Hight Chief Government Ekpemukpolo, aka Tompolo, who is not even a lawmaker neither a public office holder could influence the most prestigious Nigeria Maritime University, Okerenkoko in Delta State and commended former Governor James Onanife Ibori for constructing the Bomadi bridge that has opened up the area, connecting over ten Ijaw riverine communities today.

The developmental advocate, therefore, appealed to lawmakers of Ijaw extraction in Delta State to intensify lobbying and work harder to gain approval for the separation of the Warri North and Warri South West constituencies to enable the Ijaws and Itsekiris have independent representatives at the State House of Assembly, and equally engage and lobby critical stakeholders for the splitting of Warri Federal Constituency for the benefit of all in Warri Area. 

This he said, would help to reduce ethnic tension characteristic of Delta state elections, adding that Ijaw areas are large enough to have more wards and LGAs, and so should not be fused with other ethnic groups.

He also advised Ijaw politicians to desist from politicising the development of the Ijaw areas, noting that there is no other better time than now for the Ijaw ethnic nationality to move forward.

PTI Defends Its Reputation Against Misleading Sahara Media Report By Wilson Macaulay Effurun, Delta State July 12 2025 The Management of the prestigious Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, has vehemently refuted a sensational and malicious report published by Sahara Reporters on July 10, 2025, which alleged that students of the foremost oil and gas institution study in “flooded classrooms and snake-infested hostels” despite a ₦39 billion budget. Describing the publication as “baseless, mischievous, and an orchestrated attempt to malign the integrity of the institution,” PTI Management said the report is not only factually inaccurate but also a deliberate attack on the hard-earned reputation and progress of the institution under its current leadership. In a strongly worded statement issued on Friday, the management declared: > “There are absolutely no flooded classrooms or snake-infested hostels within the Institute. These claims are complete fabrications devoid of any evidence or truth.” Management further challenged Sahara Reporters to produce any verifiable photographic or video proof to substantiate its claims. > “If such conditions exist as alleged, Sahara Reporters should have no difficulty presenting concrete evidence. Until then, their report remains a reckless misrepresentation aimed at misleading the public.” PTI clarified that all its lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, and hostels are structurally sound, properly ventilated, electrically powered, and routinely maintained. The Institute prides itself on maintaining a safe and conducive academic environment for learning, innovation, and professional development in the oil and gas sector.
