High Chief Wellington Bobo, the Oroupawei of Gbaramatu kingdom has commended Senator Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State for the recent upgrade of three institutions in Delta State to the status of full fledged universities

Chief Bobo who spoke in warri Delta State observed that the new policy will go a long way in solving admission problems to teaming Deltas who are in dire need of university education which in a way is also stepping up standards in terms of capacity building.

However, Chief Bobo made a strong appeal to Governor Okowa in the spirit and light of equity, justice and proportionality to do everything possible within his power to ensure the speedy takeoff of the abandoned Bomadi polytechnic which was established during the administration of former governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.

He also called on Governor Okowa to use the instruments of his good office to actualize the affiliation of Burutu Marine institute to the maritime university at Okerenkoko.

Chief Bobo emphasized that if the Burutu Marine Institute is made a campus of the university at Okerenkoko, the positive multiplier effect will be a very good story to tell in the future.

While stressing the necessity of the take off of the Bomadi poly and the plausibility of the affiliation of the Burutu Marine Institute to a mother university, Chief Bobo said: “The Bomadi poly and the Burutu Martime Institute upgrade are fundamental educational needs to the Ijar riverine communities because of the peculiar terrain and the negative effect of oil exploration and exploitation which have kept the area backward before now”

Until then, their report remains a reckless misrepresentation aimed at misleading the public.” PTI clarified that all its lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, and hostels are structurally sound, properly ventilated, electrically powered, and routinely maintained.
