Delta Commissioner for Works: Augoye in the eyes of History

Chief James Augoye, the present Delta State Commissioner for Works who is presently changing the political narrative of Okpe Local Government Area by playing politics with  human face whereby making life meaningful for those that seek his assistance in one way or the other.


Chief James Augoye is a house hold name in the politics of Delta State due to his enormous performance as Commissioner for Works which gave birth to his reappointment by the Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.


Since first assuming office in 2015, Augoye has been able to interpret the smart initiatives of the State Governor who has been nicknamed “Road Master” in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments in road construction spanning over 407 roads, and several line drainages spread across the State.

With his unalloyed and total commitment  to serving the good people of Delta State
spanning over decades and having held major positions of responsibility without blemish as well as maintaining a high ethical records of integrity and unvarnished rectitude, Chief James Augoye an astute administrator , a man characterized with professional excellence, laudable
achievements, operational efficiency, administrative fastidiousness
in its entire entirety,  no doubt has demonstrated the true spirit of support and leadership to the good people of Delta State through effective representation as the  Commissioner for Works in the state.

For this selfless service to the good people of Delta State through his transformation of various road projects accros the state, Chief James Augoye  has been described by many as ' the man of the people, a leader with a
pragmatic approach, a beacon of hope not only to  the Okpe nation but Delta State in general and a leader
per excellence.


The administration of Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa would not be complete if the name of the Delta State Commissioner for Works is not  been mentioned countless number of times. 
This is because, as the Commissioner for Works in the  State, Augoye  has
 contributed his quota in Human-Capital Development, puts his wealth of experience, shown crucially, integrity and sagacity displayed by resolute principle,
runs an open door policy, in line with the SMART AGENDA of the "Road Master",  Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

Augoye's  political history that has brought him this far can never be over emphasize; this is because, while in office as a councellor, a local government chairman and a Commissioner, the Okpe born politician outstanding performance is second to none and as  a man, he  matches his words with actions.

A good number of roads in the state have been given a new face lift, vergin lands being transformed into motorable roads, drinages everywhere, the work is endless and this is a testimony of stewardship of Chief James Augoye, the Honorable Commissioner for Works, Delta State.

However, Chief James Augoye's  leadership has been criticized in some
quarters but the highly motivated and dedicated Delta Commissioner for Works has so far impressed the widest expectations of his critics ;this group of persons now form a better part of his most vocal supporters and they had no option than to swallow their pride and
Celebrate his achievements.

PTI Defends Its Reputation Against Misleading Sahara Media Report By Wilson Macaulay Effurun, Delta State July 12 2025 The Management of the prestigious Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, has vehemently refuted a sensational and malicious report published by Sahara Reporters on July 10, 2025, which alleged that students of the foremost oil and gas institution study in “flooded classrooms and snake-infested hostels” despite a ₦39 billion budget. Describing the publication as “baseless, mischievous, and an orchestrated attempt to malign the integrity of the institution,” PTI Management said the report is not only factually inaccurate but also a deliberate attack on the hard-earned reputation and progress of the institution under its current leadership. In a strongly worded statement issued on Friday, the management declared: > “There are absolutely no flooded classrooms or snake-infested hostels within the Institute. These claims are complete fabrications devoid of any evidence or truth.” Management further challenged Sahara Reporters to produce any verifiable photographic or video proof to substantiate its claims. > “If such conditions exist as alleged, Sahara Reporters should have no difficulty presenting concrete evidence. Until then, their report remains a reckless misrepresentation aimed at misleading the public.” PTI clarified that all its lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, and hostels are structurally sound, properly ventilated, electrically powered, and routinely maintained. The Institute prides itself on maintaining a safe and conducive academic environment for learning, innovation, and professional development in the oil and gas sector. The management in clear terms described the publication as the work of “unscrupulous elements seeking to sow discord and cast aspersions on the steady infrastructural development PTI has recorded in recent years.” As a center of excellence in petroleum training and manpower development, PTI has, under its current administration, seen remarkable transformation in terms of physical infrastructure, digital modernization, and student welfare programs. The Institute continues to attract local and international recognition for its cutting-edge research and high-impact training curriculum. While assuring stakeholders, parents, and the general public of its unwavering commitment to the safety and welfare of its students, the management reiterated its call for responsible journalism and urged media practitioners to verify facts before rushing to publication. “We remain focused on our mandate and will not be distracted by smear campaigns designed to derail our progress.”
