POST COVID 19: PTI Rolls Out 5 Year Strategic Development Plan

The Management of Petroleum Training Institute, PTI, Effurun, Delta State as part of its effort to reposition, the institution for the post covid 19 era, PTI has rolled out a 5 year strategic development roadmap to improve on its human capital development plan in a one day retreat organized at the conference of the institute.

The retreat which was declared opened by Dr. Henry Adimula, the Acting Principal and the Chief Executive Officer of the institute in his speech stated that, the retreat was organized to improve on the human capital development drive, update of E–learning activities to keep the management, staff and students in the touch line of digital realities of our time which is key to the success of any developmental effort.

Dr. Henry Adimula, the Chief Executive of PTI hinted that the 5 years strategy development agenda set by the institution is targeted to promote collaborative effort, improved industrial relation, and production of high-quality graduates who can continue to stand shoulder high with a competitive edge whenever they meet their peers from other citadel of learning.

The CEO disclosed that, the focus of PTI henceforth in the spirit and letter of the strategic roadmap spanning 2021 to 2025 will be on training and research programs to foster collaboration with relevant industries in the petroleum and allied sector.

Dr. B.S. Oyetunde, Director of research and development, the guest speaker while presenting the 5 year strategic roadmap pointed at that there are strategic focus and action points which are articulated from 2021 running through 2025.

Dr. Oyetunde noted during the retreat that the plan is tailored to improve basic infrastructural facilities, deployment of digital PTI to serve the needs of oil and gas industries, application of up-to-date technology in delivering solution to oil and gas companies etc.

The guest speaker in his presentation remarked that the vision of the roadmap is for PTI to become the leading oil and gas technology institute in Africa, the mission he said was for PTI to provide competitive technological manpower through quality training, research and consultancy for the petroleum industries while the strategic outcome will be improvement of training and research activities in all sections of the institution.

Mr. Goddy Akpoduado Deputy Director Finance and Administration who represented the Director of Finance and Accounts Alhaji Aliyu Mafindi assured the participants that they have put arrangement in place to play their expected role in the new order to ensure that PTI is showcased as the institute with the Midas touch.

Mr. Brown Ukanifimoni Director Public Affairs Department who also made his contribution attested that the 5 years action plan is the surest way to rejig the PTI in the post covid 19 era.

Until then, their report remains a reckless misrepresentation aimed at misleading the public.” PTI clarified that all its lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, and hostels are structurally sound, properly ventilated, electrically powered, and routinely maintained. The Institute prides itself on maintaining a safe and conducive academic environment for learning, innovation, and professional development in the oil and gas sector. The management in clear terms described the publication as the work of “unscrupulous elements seeking to sow discord and cast aspersions on the steady infrastructural development PTI has recorded in recent years.” As a center of excellence in petroleum training and manpower development, PTI has, under its current administration, seen remarkable transformation in terms of physical infrastructure, digital modernization, and student welfare programs. The Institute continues to attract local and international recognition for its cutting-edge research and high-impact training curriculum. While assuring stakeholders, parents, and the general public of its unwavering commitment to the safety and welfare of its students, the management reiterated its call for responsible journalism and urged media practitioners to verify facts before rushing to publication. “We remain focused on our mandate and will not be distracted by smear campaigns designed to derail our progress.”
