IGHOGBADU SECONDARY SCHOOL , ANOTHER EVIDENCE OF GOV. OKOWA’S GIANT STRIDES IN EDUCATION

March 2^nd 2021 will remain a memorable day for the people of Okere Urhobo kingdom, in Warri South LGA, especially HRM Okumagba 11 the Orosuen of Okere  Urhobo kingdom who led an array of traditional chiefs to grace the commissioning ceremony of the Ighogbadu Secondary School, which happened to be the first in the Kingdom.

The commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Chief Patrick Ukah while giving a brief    history of the  journey of how the project came about, recalled and traced how the former Prime Minster of the kingdom, High Chief Wilson Eboh of blessed memories made the request of a secondary school for the kingdom in 2018 in a townhall meeting the result being the construction of two gigantic edifice of two storey each to kick start the school, which already have impressive member number of over 450 students already enrolled for the SSCE

HRM, Okumagba 11, the Orosuen of Okere-Urhobo kingdom in his welcome address to both governor Okowa and governor Diri of bayelsa who was on a one day visit to Delta State, noted that beside the Ighogbadu Secondary School which is the first in the kingdom, the governor did much in constructing 29 former earth road to motorable asphalt standard.

The Orosuen was indeed glad when he said: “our kingdom is a testimony of the good works of governor Okowa, we have not seen any one who can beat Gov.  Okowa record in the 6 years he has spend in office. He has established for us the Warri Uvwie and Environs Development Agency which has turned our kingdom to a true cosmopolitan city”.

The kingdom has not haveit so good until this time of governor Okowa the Okere Urhobo  monarch concluded.

His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, the governor of Bayelsa State who was on a One day State visit to governor Okowa of Delta State commissioned Ubeji Access Road, NPA Expressway Access Road to Warri Refinery and Petrol Chemical Company, Ekpan and the newly established  Ighogbadu secondary school in Okere Urhobo kingdom, in Warri.

Senator Douye Diri the visiting governor of  Bayalsa State who was the Special guest of honor at the Commissioning ceremony of the three notable projects appreciated the laudable strides of governor Okowa  aka Road Master whom be described as a workaholic and trailblazer .

He observed in his speech that Delta state under the watch of governor Okowa is faring very well hence the masses are affirming the acronym of Road Master given to him by his political foot soldiers.

Governor Douye Diri remarked that governor Okowa of Delta State is building more schools to accommodate the educational need of Deltans thereby crystalizing the Mantra of a Stronger Delta vision.

The Visiting Bayelsa State governor while appreciating the magnificent two Storey building edifice built by the Okowa Administration for the Okere-Urhobo Warri Community recalled: “with a good sense of my humble background, as a man who attended and studied in a mud school house, I can see in this wonderful edifice future notable lawyers, doctors, legislators, governors and presidents. The vision and impact of governor Okowa will remain a land mark and will continue to blossom in Delta and beyond long after his exit of office by 2023, Douye Diri concluded .

Governor Okowa in his address thanked the visiting governor of Bayesal State, members of the National Assembly present the state exco, HRM Okumagba, Okumagba 11 the Orosuen of Okere-Urhobo kingdom Warri for ensuring that  the contractors where given the needed support to work peacefully at their various work sites to execute and finish their  projects in record time.

Governor Okowa in answer to an earlier request made by his HRM Okumagba 11 in his welcome address directed the honorable commissioner of education, to continue the process of building more class rooms to accommodate the teaming population of student at Ighogbadu secondary school.

Speaking further, governor Okowa added: “no amount of money spent on education of our children is too much, my focus is to keep my promises and ensure that I lay a solid foundation that can be built upon by my successor by the time I will be living office in 2023.

Pastor Duke Ufuoma Barho J.P, the National financial secretary of UPU, youth wing, Hon. Engr felix Ogedegbe, Okumagba ward 2 Campaign Chairman, Hon Eburu Kelly Akpoyovwi PDP Councillorship candidate Okumagba ward 2  who also spoke in their separate speeches eulogize Governor Okowa saying; “what governor Okowa has done for Okere-Urhobo kingdom is incredible. He has put smile on our faces, we are indeed happy to be supporters of PDP in Warri South L.G.A

Speaking further they asserted that: “The road network is a wonderful story that cannot be forgotten in a passing glance. From 2007-2014 no single road project in our area but God brought amiable Gov. Okowa to change the narrative of the Okere Urhobo People.

They concurred that governor Okowa is a man who can be trusted to serve as a president or vice president of Nigeria based on the pedigree of his performance as Road Master governor in Delta State.

Hon. Dennis Onovie, the Unuevworo of Ugoboroke  uvwie kingdom,  former House of Assembly Member who represented Warri Constituancy 11, ,Olorogun Westham Adehor J.P Executive Asst to governor Okowa on political matters, Ambassador Hope George, SSA to governor Okowa,  The PDP Chairman Warri South Hon. Samson Akpeyigbe who also spoke at the ceremony averred essentially that governor Okowa government has transformed Okere-Urhobo kingdom in particular beyond the threshold  and Warri South in general.
