Egbema Humanitarian Group Demands Inclusion Of Egbema Blocs Communities Into Chevron Onshore Operations

The Leadership of Egbema Communities Peace Development and Humanitarian Rights Association of Egbema kingdom in Delta and Edo States has called on Comrade Jude Ukori the Chairman and  Comrade Chief Sheriff Mulade Secretary, of Egbema Gbaramatu Communities Development Foundation (EGCDF) to urgently ratify, rectify and address the inclusion of the long overdue marginalized Egbema Bloc Communities A and Egbema Bloc Communities B in respect of Olero and Dibi Fields in Chevron Nigeria Limited Operations for the overall interest of the Egbema people and the communities in general.

The Group stated that the call became paramount and imperative because the concerned Egbema Bloc Communities A & B are also host and operational vicinity of Chevron Nigeria Limited Onshore Operations in Egbema kingdom which cannot be disputed or denied any longer in pursuant to Nigeria Oil & Gas Industry Content Development Act of 2010, specifically section 25, 26, 27, and 28 (s).

The President of the Group, Comrade Mike J.K Tiemo and 39 others who signed the official statement made available to the medial in Warri Delta State asserted: “some time in 2003 and 2004 the Egbema Bloc Communities and Gbaramatu Bloc communities sought for recognition and inclusion, when the Egbema and Gbaramatu Foundation Global Memorandum of Understanding (GMOU’S) with Chevron Nigeria Limited was established and recognition was accorded to the aforementioned two clans bloc Communities led by late Rev. Dr. Torla of blessed memory as Chairman of the past administration and Elder Edmund Doyah Tiemo as a secretary”.

Comrade Mike Jk Tiemo the Group President explained and stated that: “the Egbema Bloc Communities were asked to bring two representatives which the general house of the Egbema Bloc Communities nominated four representatives instead of two nominees as requested, this led to controversies and deprivation of the affected communities up till now.”

According to Comrade Mike Jk Tiemo, the Gbaramatu Bloc A Community and Bloc B Community has been oltheir fundamental,  economic, humanitarian and constitutional accrue and accruable rights, entitlements, allocations, benefits, remunerations, Compensations, payments e.t.c, since 2004 till date without any ultra-vires, constrain, deprivation, lurch and illegal impediment because they are  doing what is needful and rightful.

The humanitarian crusader remarked that: “The Egbema Bloc Communities have written series of letters to the leadership of the Egbema Gbaramatu Development Foundation previously and presently which has not been looked into and addressed by the management of the above mentioned body led by Comrade Jude Ukori as Chairman and Comrade Chief Sheriff Mulade as Secretary respectively.”

Comrade Mike Jk Tiemo maintained that: “the Egbema Bloc Group will be constrained to explore all peaceful and legal measure to carry out a massive protest for justice and peace to prevail if this vital and paramount  issues are not urgently and adequately  addressed in the spirit of fairness and equity because the long time burring and boiling issues of abnormalities, marginalization, ostracization and injustices that denote denial of the heir apparents of Egbema Bloc Communities and inhabitants which can no longer tolerated.” He concluded.
