Egbema Off Shore Communities Issues 14 Days Ultimatum to Chevron / Fidelity Bank to Address Vital Demands or Face Shutdown.

The Egbema Off-Shore Communities of Delta State  have issued a 14 days ultimatum to Chevron Nigeria Limited and Fidelity bank Plc, water resources branch, Effurun Delta state to release  the Egbema Off-shore  Communities’ accrue and accruable  funds (money) in the custody of Chevron Nigeria Limited and Fidelity Bank PLC as regards  Gbaramatu, Egbema. Ogulagha Coastal Community Front of the one third of the said funds  in order for the communities  to address vital demands without any further hesitation or delay  as a result of the non implementation of 

 OMOU since 2008 till date which is fourteen 

good years to enable our Commuties  execute  developmental projects,, award scholarship to our indigenes/ students and empowerment of  our youths/ women on or before June 3rd, 2021 .


 The Egbema off-shore Communities of Delta State in an  official   resolution signed by Comrade Mike JK Tiemo as President, Comrade Andrew Sode Assistant Secretary, Mr. Tony Oniyeburutan, PRO, Mr Michael Ekiyor Treasurer, Mr Timi David Logistics Officer, Chief Jackson Edah, Chief Coordinator, Chief Appearance Gajah, Operation Director and Comrade Paris  Deigha, Publicity Officer with eleven others ,averred that they are demanding for the immediate commencement and execution of community development projects  with their money in the bank and chevron Nigeria Limited treasury or account for years .

They also demanded for the Award of scholarship to their indigenes/ students with the  money in their jointly controlled   Fidelity bank account, water resources  Effurun ,which include Gbaramatu and Ogulagha Commuties and the funds should be released  within two weeks to address the scholarship issues.

The statement  emphatically demanded for    the immediate  release of one third of the accruable  funds to Egbema off-shore Communities   from chevron Nigeria limited treasury account


The Egbema Offshore Communities demanded in strong terms that they need empowerment of fifty (50) indigenes/ stake holders with the sum of five million naira  each for Agro business and other trade with the money in the bank and  Chevron Nigeria limited treasury or account for years within two weeks as aforementioned



They also placed demand for two management position ,five superintendents , engagement of indigenes  from Egbema Off Shore Communities or kingdom in  inrespect of the Company off shore  operation.

The list of their demands included employment of thirty graduates as direct staff to Chevron Nigeria Limited etc , from Egbema Off Shore Communities. 

The Egbema Offshore Communities  stressed in their statement of demand that  the request became Paramount and imperative because Chevron has never employed  any graduate as a direct staff from Egbema off-shore Communities since the commencement of their off shore operation for over twenty two years .

They emphasized that if  the demands are not looked into for the growth and development of Egbema Kingdom,within the stipulated time frame of the ultimatum , they have no other option but to mobilize women and   youths  massively to  protest for their fundamental and humanitarian right for Justice to prevail due to the  consistent and persistent denial  of the heir apparants  of the Egbema off shore communities  and inhabitants .

Further more , the Community pointed  out  that the ultimatum is germane because we the indigenes , stake holders and members of the Egbema Off-shore Communities cannot Carry out unscrupulous acts such as vandalization of pipelines,Oil facilities, bunkering, kidnapping, thuggery and piracy as a means of survival and livelihood.

The statement added that enough is enough for the inhuman treatment and illegal impediment obstructing

Egbema Off Shore Communities  since 2008 till date without any developmental Project, award of Scholarship , Youths/Women empowerment etc., while our brothers and neighbours in Itsekiri and llaje axis have executed more than forty tangible and notable developmental projects, including scholarship award , empowerment and training of Youths  / Women in their various Communities which Chevron Nigeria  Lmiited without any dispute and objection  can attest to the claim.
