Why Senator James Manager Knelt before James Ibori

 A Delta South Senator’s aide, has explained why his boss  was seen kneeling before former Governor James Ibori in a photo that has gone viral.

The legislative Aide further explained that It was only a token of respect in Urhobo tradition, according to a person familiar with the situation who spoke to lndependent  on Friday. 

He stated that the photo was shot on Wednesday during Manager’s courtesy visit to Ibori. 

Senator James Manager  went to see him  Chief lbori on Wednesday,” in continuation of his Governorship quest come 2023.

Speaking more specifically he  continued,:“Like his previous boss, Ibori is a senior, a king, and an elder to him. “You kneel whenever you go to pay honour to an Urhobo elder or someone you respect. “For people to show who the individual is to you is a statement of appreciation."

However, he lamented that saying : “On social media, things are simply being twisted. “It’s a personal relationship,” he says. “You don’t expect the senator to rise to address Ibori,” the “Senator came to pay honour to him because it had been a long time since he had seen Ibori, and he drank. “Those are the drinks you see on the table in the picture.”  he concluded .
