A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sapele Local Government Area of

Delta state, Hon. Francis Obule (JP) says that the Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA) Speaker,

Rt. Hon. Chief Sheriff Oborevwori has performed beyond the expectations of Deltans, stressing

that Oborevwori is a blessing to Urhobo nation and Delta State.

Speaking to newsmen in Warri after he returned from Cross River State for the proposed

PDP Mobilizers Mega Rally at Calabar, Hon. Obule said that Oborevwori leadership skill and

acumen as a speaker has brought peace among the legislative members and quick response in passing bills into law and budget which helped in facilitating development in Delta State.

He noted that Oborevwori has made remarkable impact in his service to the people with

his effective performance which cut-across the 36 states of Nigeria including the FCT which has

made him first as a treasurer of all Speakers in Nigeria and now vice chairman of all Speakers in

Nigeria.

Hon. Obule who is also the Coordinator of PDP Mobilizers Delta State Chapter said that

this remarkable achievement has never happened before since the creation of Delta State,

stressing that his leadership style has made Delta State proud.

According to him “In terms of awareness, different workshops and seminars sponsored by

the House have been held for the staff of the legislative chamber with various aides and members

of the DTHA.

“It shows the uniqueness of his leadership quality as a speaker of the 7th Assembly, hence

he was scored high among the various speakers that presided over the chamber since democracy

commenced in 1999”.

Comrade Obule stated that despite some challenges within the House, he was in firm

control of the activities of the House and has a listening ear and very much ready to look into

every issue that comes his way and proffer solutions.

“He has devised means of bringing everybody together amicably as a family which has

created an atmosphere of development in the state with the support of His Excellency, Senator,

Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and also the support or cooperation of members of the House he was able to

achieve much in his leadership role as a speaker”.

Hon. Obule advises those calling on Governor Okowa to run or contest for the president

in 2023 to change their minds because they don’t actually love him, adding that they want to kill

his political career instead he (Okowa) should go back to the Senate and build his political career

from there and not president position

PTI Defends Its Reputation Against Misleading Sahara Media Report By Wilson Macaulay Effurun, Delta State July 12 2025 The Management of the prestigious Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, has vehemently refuted a sensational and malicious report published by Sahara Reporters on July 10, 2025, which alleged that students of the foremost oil and gas institution study in “flooded classrooms and snake-infested hostels” despite a ₦39 billion budget. Describing the publication as “baseless, mischievous, and an orchestrated attempt to malign the integrity of the institution,” PTI Management said the report is not only factually inaccurate but also a deliberate attack on the hard-earned reputation and progress of the institution under its current leadership. In a strongly worded statement issued on Friday, the management declared: > “There are absolutely no flooded classrooms or snake-infested hostels within the Institute. These claims are complete fabrications devoid of any evidence or truth.” Management further challenged Sahara Reporters to produce any verifiable photographic or video proof to substantiate its claims. > “If such conditions exist as alleged, Sahara Reporters should have no difficulty presenting concrete evidence. Until then, their report remains a reckless misrepresentation aimed at misleading the public.” PTI clarified that all its lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, and hostels are structurally sound, properly ventilated, electrically powered, and routinely maintained. The Institute prides itself on maintaining a safe and conducive academic environment for learning, innovation, and professional development in the oil and gas sector. The management in clear terms described the publication as the work of “unscrupulous elements seeking to sow discord and cast aspersions on the steady infrastructural development PTI has recorded in recent years.” As a center of excellence in petroleum training and manpower development, PTI has, under its current administration, seen remarkable transformation in terms of physical infrastructure, digital modernization, and student welfare programs. The Institute continues to attract local and international recognition for its cutting-edge research and high-impact training curriculum. While assuring stakeholders, parents, and the general public of its unwavering commitment to the safety and welfare of its students, the management reiterated its call for responsible journalism and urged media practitioners to verify facts before rushing to publication. “We remain focused on our mandate and will not be distracted by smear campaigns designed to derail our progress.”
