Obasanjo Not To Blame ,Niger Delta People Should Re- ldentify Their Agenda For Freedom, Justice ----- Comrade Mike Tiemo By Wilson Macaulay Warri The leadership of Peace, Development , Security and Humanitarian Rights Association of Niger Deltans has carpetted former President Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR over his recent outburst of positing that oil belongs to Nigeria and not the Niger Delta people. Comrade Mike Tiemo Who spoke in Warri Delta State pointed out that Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is not to blame, because he capitalized on the divergent nature of the Niger Delta people who speak in double tongues Comrade Mike Tiemo further lamented saying : " The disunity of the Niger Deltans created the unwanted vacuum and opportunity for our highly respected Former President to disperage the golden hen that lays the golden egg." He continued: " "It is indeed unimaginable that an elderstateman in the Calibre of OBJ who is a " Father Fiigure" to all Nigerians , expected to be preaching the gospel of peace and unity is the one releasing Vernorms through such a lackadaisical speech bordening on ownership of oil while the Niger Delta region people are dying gradually as a result of pollution." and , degradation through the application of dynamite and detonators which are explosives bombs used on the soil by the international oil companies producing oil and gas that have exposed the Niger Delta to a hazardous situation. Tiemo Who opined that the former President statement is nothing but a mission to strip the slained people of the Niger Delta remarked: " OBJ as a "Father Fiigure" should have known better that it is wrong to trample on a stricken child, because going by the import of his statement and our bitter experience in the country before now, the Niger Delta region represents a stricen child that is being trampled in Project Nigeria ." Comrade Mike Tiemo the renowned Humanitarian Activist declared that the Niger Delta People are astonished that Chief Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR, a former President could utter such pronouncement when he should be thinking of how to solve the National Problems , that are very devastitating to the people like , insecurity, persistent killing , unemployment, COVID-Hunger in the midst of affluence, how to restructure the Country,fix the ailing economy, that is drifting very fast into a pariah State. He maintained that considering the price the Niger Delta People is paying in terms of the negative effects of oil extraction, what is on ground is not an issue of OBJ coming to declare in Newspapers pages that be does don't hate Niger Delta people , but he must be prepared to allow justice to prevail to the glory of God Who made the oil available in the region . The piqued Tiemo added: " If l May ask,can OBJ as a landlord in Warri, Abeokuta , Lagos and Otta Farms with Properties fenced round in the places mentioned with clear demarcation or boundaries , can he declare those assets as genereral Propertiea for everyone, or all Nigerians, the answer is simply no" ln summàtion Tiemo in the spirit and letters of one Nigeria made a recommendation saying : " OBJ should contact and gather relevant National stakeholders to join with PMB to profer best urgent measures to mitigate the present National challenges to keep the unity of Nigeria with love instead of the denial of the heir aparants of the Niger Delta region or the inhabitants .
