The Niger Delta United Group of  Presidential Amnesty Programme  PAP

Phase 3 Ex Agitators has called off their Planed Protest  and earlier intention to close down oil facilities in the Niger Delta region after delegated PAP Officials  and other relevant agencies of Government brokered a truce with the ex - agitators in Abuja, the Federal capital territory..




The agrieved Niger Delta United Group

of PAP Phase  3  called off the Planed 

 protest after reaching a middle course

agreement which they hope to further  fine-tune  in the interest of all  parties

concerned in the imblogio.  


The official statement  signed and released  by General Joseph Akpos Jericho, Chairman, General Timibra Gabriel, Vice Chairman and General Ivwromon Ogaga, Secretary made available to Daily Independent Newspaper  reads in part.


" After due delibrations with the officials

of PAP  through the Peace Building and Conflict Resolution Department of the Presidential Amnesty Office in Abuja on the 8/9 August 2022, 

we hereby declare unilaterally that   the Planed protest Which was earlier slated to commence on August 10th 2022 is

here by called off in the interest of the national economy and to maintain the  prevailing peace in the oil bearing Niger Delta region.."



The Ex Agitators in their  cease-fire statement noted : " lndeed in our 12 points demand   in which we made ourselves very clear, the fence mending olive team of PAP have  promised to look towards the issues we presented before the Amnesty  Office in  Abuja Within a short time bound.




The Ex - agitators  remarked in their statement thus: "The  proposed Planed

 protest was actually  due to the agitations  of our camp boys  who has been  exacting  so much pressure on   us since 2013 till date for them to be

documented, trained and empowered

and included in the list of those receiving camp allowance."



The statement added: " l ,the chairman of Niger Delta United Group Gen Joseph Jericho Akpos, Gen Timibra Gabriel Vice Chairman and Gen Ivwromon Ebi Ogaga  Secretary were engaged in a two days  peaceful meeting with the PAP Office in Abuja and we are convinced that

the  PAP management in the light of the new development  Will implement the accord reached hence we are  calling  on all phase three leaders and their camp boys to stay calm ."


In the spirit of the new accord they

said :  " We also  thank the interim administrator' Cornnel  Milland Dixon Dikio, Alfred kemepado, Bestman Peace building and other  security agencies for listening to our germane request."


They stressed  in the peace note saying : " The interim administrator has done  well in the aspect of  the  prompt  payment of  our monthly stipends

and  we  hope he Will get the grey areas as identified in our new accord ironed out in the interest of all especially as it

concerns the issues of accommodating our camp boys  and to engage us the leaders. meaningfully as discussed here in Abuja."
