Niger Delta Group Backs FG, Tompolo, Calls On Governnor Akeredolu To Eshew Bad Utterances Against Niger Deltans

The Leadership of Peace Development Security and Humanitarian Rights Association of Niger Deltans has backed the Federal Government's wise
decision to award Oil Pipeline Surveillance Contract
to High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpomupolo aka Tompolo who is an
illustrious son of the impoverished
Niger Delta through the Nigerian National Petroleum Company limited
NNPCL .
The Statement also unilaterally called
on His Excellency, Alakurin Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN ) the Executive Governor of Ondo State to eshew bad utterances against the inhabitants of the Niger Delta , the person of High Chief Tompolo and the contract which is awarded in the general interest of National economy.
Comrade Mike JK Tiemo the President of the Group who spoke in Warri Delta State expressed displeasure that Governor Akeredolu's negative utterance and challenge against the Federal Government's wise decision to issue the Oil Pipeline Surveillance Contract to High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpomupolo aka Tompolo through the NNPC Nigeria Limited
as it concerns an indigenous Company
which is in line with the Spirit and letters of the Local content ACT.
Comrade Mike JK Tiemo the Group President further stated that the action of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) of Ondo State is highly regretable, uncalled for, baseless and lacks locus standi because the NNPCL have the legal right, the moral authority, consent and mandate to issue Pipeline Surveillance Contract to an indeginous company in accordance to the fulfillement of company obligations and core social responsibilities such as employment,Community Development Projects, capacity building, human Capital development , Youth and Women empowerment etc.
He added : " ln the light of the above salient points which buttresses the
wise counsel of the idea, we expected
His Excellency, Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) the Executive Governor of Ondo State to
Commend the laudable decision of the federal government , the (NNPCL )and congratulate High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpomupolo aka Tompolo ,
who from all index of assessment met the requirements to execute the contract without hitches or rancour for the benefit of all stakeholders."
The Humanitarian Activist noted that
indeed Governor Akeredolu need to rescind his earlier position and express gratitude and appreciation to the Federal Government for addressing some of the Niger Delta agitations without bias and tribal inclinations.
The Group President lamented that it is astonishing that a recognized national leader from an oil producing State can make such utterances which contracdits the position and general opinion of the Niger Delta people.
Comrade Mike Tiemo emphasized that
Governor Akeredolu ought to have known better as a (SAN) that the Niger Deltans has been crying against different forms of marginalization,
and ostracisation as a region that Produces the black gold which is the national cake that feeds the nation.
Continuing , he advised Governor Akeredolu to fight for the Humanitarian Rights of the Niger Delta People in their effort to attract growth and development to the region.
Tiemo explained that High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpomupolo aka Tompolo is a well known philanthropist
who will never put aside vested interest of sons and daughters of Ondo State , especially the Oil bearing Communities
as it affects his operational vicinity .
He stressed that Governnor Akeredolu should join hands with Peace Development Security and Humanitarian Rights Association of Niger Deltans
to appeal to President Muhammadu Buhari to utilize the recently repartrated Abacha looth to address some major and vital coastal roads from Delta State through Ondo State to Lagos State.
He also appealed to PMB to spend Part of the Abacha returned looted funds to address the lingering and persistent ASUU strike so that the Nigerian students can go back to their various institutes of learning .
Comrade Mike JK Tiemo who harped on
unity as an essential ingredient to move the Niger Delta region and Nigeria forward said: " In the spirit of unity of one purpose l call on the nine oil producing States to put aside individual differences or discrepancies that will not be helpful but should remain resolute to speak and affirm in one accord for the overall interest of all Niger Deltans.
Tiemo maintained that any Nigerian citizen Who have a negative notion towards the oil Pipeline Surveillance Contract issued to Tompolo should
have a change of mind because it is a welcome development in the best interest of all stakeholders.
Finally ,he expressed optimism that
by the grace of God within the shortest
possible time as Tompolo Commences work , the Niger Deltans, NNPCL
and the Federal Government of Nigeria
who are relevant stakeholders in this
matter shall rejoice and we shall all count our blessings .
