The leadership and the entire membership of  the Niger Delta Youth Leaders Administrative Council has  declared their total and unilateral  support for the Atiku Abubakar and Ifeanyi Okowa joint  Presidential  ticket under the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP).


The prominent Youth Leaders at the

end of a Stakeholders meeting held on Monday  5th of September 2022  in Asaba

the Delta State  Capital 

drafted a Communique which in summary mapped out strategy to mobilize youths across the 36 States of the federation including the Federal Capital territory ,FCT Abuja to ensure

the success of Atiku /Okowa at the 2023 general election.


  The  official statement signed by the Chairman and Secretary respectively made available to Daily lndependent Newspaper stated that the duo of former Vice President  Abubakar Abubakar and Governnor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State have the requisite knowledge and the tonic wine needed to turn round the fortune of nation's battered economy.

who addressed selected group of media  executives stated thus :


" After a consumate and due delibrations we the Youth Leaders and the entire membership of the Youth Administrative Council     declared our total  support at  the Stakeholders Meeting in Asaba headquaters of Delta State on Monday 5th September, to do everything within our Power and jurisdiction to mobilize  

women and Youths at the grassroot  level  across the six geopolitical zones

to cast their vote enmass for Atiku/Okowa joint ticket.  


 Ambassador Dr Hope George who is a Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Okowa on Political Affairs  explained that the youth leaders support for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was due to his contributions to politics and the private sector in Nigeria.

The renowned youth leader explained further that their support for Governor Okowa Vice Presidential candidature was due to the governor's  laudable achievements in Delta State and his contribution to the PDP so far.

He posited that Governor Okowa has a score card in Delta State,

George stated that Governor Okowa has contributed so much to the development of young people and therefore deserved to be the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

George who has served Nigeria youths in different capacities stated that the Stakeholders Meeting was long over due.

He also stated that there was great need for Nigerians  to remain one as one strong country.

George noted that Nigeria has long been neglected by the All Progressive Congress (APC) led Federal government.

He therefore reasoned that Nigerians need Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Senator Ifeanyi Okowa to come on board in order to add value to the economy of Nigeria .

The former Vice President of National Youth Council of Nigeria disclosed that the Niger Delta youth leaders have plans to have a meeting with Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to discuss the challenges facing young people in the region, in no distance time.
