Hon Ahwinahwi Congratulates Fr. Ewherido On His Appointment As Catholic Bishop Of Warri

the PDP House of Representative Candidate for Ughelli North/ Ughelli South / Udu Federal Constituency has congratulated Rt. Msgr. Tony Ewherido PhD on his elevation/ appointment   by Pope Francis  as the Catholic Bishop Of Warri diocese.

The   official message Which was personally signed by Hon Solomon Urhoboyovwe Ahwinahwi made available to Daily Independent Newspaper by his madia aide Mr Ufuoma Omologe reads in part:

 " On behalf of my family, I joyfully join the global community of friends of the Ewheridos and millions of ardent faithful, followers and admirers to rejoice with and congratulate you on this epochal appointment by His Holiness, Pope Francis." 

 The statement added : "As   a family, it gladdens my heart to appreciate the fact that we are part of this momentous divine recognition. It is indeed an eloquent testimony of  your untiring, unblemished and dedicated life of sterling service to God and humanity.'

Hon Ahwinahwi affirmed in his Congratulatory message that the appointment of Fr Ewherido to the exalted position of  Catholic Bishop of 
Warri Diocese is not only a merited reward but a celebration of his  very humble and unique style of missionary and propagation of the Word of God.

  The Statement continued :  "As aptly captured in Proverbs 21:21, He who follows righteousness and mercy, findeth life, righteousness and honour". For the children and things of God, you always display an unusual craving for sacrificing your time, energy and resources. "



 He pointed out ': "You  are super friendly, kind-hearted and always with a listening ear. All this you do unconditionally. Little wonder you remain one of the finest priests this generation is blessed with, a consistent man of deep intellect. Just one hour with you is enough to take home a lifetime lesson of knowledge and wisdom."

 Ahwinahwi prayed thus: "May  God walk, guide and work with you, grant you more wisdom, stable health and the strength to cope with the enormous challenges of this new, glorious and broader avenue in His vineyard as you settle down to render your usual high quality service to the Church, the community and humanity,hearty congratulations, Father
to God be all the glory."

PTI Defends Its Reputation Against Misleading Sahara Media Report By Wilson Macaulay Effurun, Delta State July 12 2025 The Management of the prestigious Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, has vehemently refuted a sensational and malicious report published by Sahara Reporters on July 10, 2025, which alleged that students of the foremost oil and gas institution study in “flooded classrooms and snake-infested hostels” despite a ₦39 billion budget. Describing the publication as “baseless, mischievous, and an orchestrated attempt to malign the integrity of the institution,” PTI Management said the report is not only factually inaccurate but also a deliberate attack on the hard-earned reputation and progress of the institution under its current leadership. In a strongly worded statement issued on Friday, the management declared: > “There are absolutely no flooded classrooms or snake-infested hostels within the Institute. These claims are complete fabrications devoid of any evidence or truth.” Management further challenged Sahara Reporters to produce any verifiable photographic or video proof to substantiate its claims. > “If such conditions exist as alleged, Sahara Reporters should have no difficulty presenting concrete evidence. Until then, their report remains a reckless misrepresentation aimed at misleading the public.” PTI clarified that all its lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, and hostels are structurally sound, properly ventilated, electrically powered, and routinely maintained. The Institute prides itself on maintaining a safe and conducive academic environment for learning, innovation, and professional development in the oil and gas sector. The management in clear terms described the publication as the work of “unscrupulous elements seeking to sow discord and cast aspersions on the steady infrastructural development PTI has recorded in recent years.” As a center of excellence in petroleum training and manpower development, PTI has, under its current administration, seen remarkable transformation in terms of physical infrastructure, digital modernization, and student welfare programs. The Institute continues to attract local and international recognition for its cutting-edge research and high-impact training curriculum.
