Okowa's EAC, Oghenesivbe remembers CMPG members, media partners at Christmas.

...Says distribution of gifts continues till new year.

Executive Assistant on Communications to the Vice Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and governor of Delta State, Olorogun Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has distributed bags of rice and cash gifts to members of the Coalition for Media Politics and Governance, CMPG, in the three Senatorial districts; with a firm promise to extend same gesture to media partners and social media influencers in the state.

Oghenesivbe who distributed the items at his office in Government House, Asaba on Monday 26th December, thanked members of the group for their unwavering commitment, doggedness and tenacity in propagating the numerous achievements of the governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa and their superlative efforts in marketing and projecting the state PDP governorship candidate, Rt Hon Oborevwori Sheriff Francis Orohwedor.

He noted that CMPG members started the media politics for the governorship ambition of Oborevwori prior to party gubernatorial primary, and has sustained the temple till date and counting.

Oghenesivbe who is also the Assistant Deputy Director, Media and Publicity of Delta State PDP Campaign Council Management Committee, assured Deltans and Nigerians that the Atiku-Okowa presidency will ensure purposeful leadership devoid of nepotism and undue favouritism such that Nigeria will again be united in love.

He noted that the nation's economy has been grossly mismanaged by the national government of the All Progressives Congress, APC, under President Mohmmadu Buhari, pointing out that the party's presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, posses the required political willpower, Leadership capacity, competence and experience to reset Nigeria and grow the economy within a reasonable time in office, if elected in 2023.

Oghenesivbe urged CMPG members to remain focused on the major assignment of marketing and projecting the M.O.R.E agenda of the governorship candidate, Rt Hon Oborevwori Sheriff Francis Orohwedor and his deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, which promises meaningful development, opportunity for all Deltans, realistic reforms and enhanced peace and security, adding that Oborevwori's mission is to run an all inclusive, open and responsive government that will meet the needs and aspirations of Deltans.

"These bags of rice and cash gifts is my personal efforts to appreciate all of you at Christmas for the good work you have been doing in the media space all year round.

"Accept it as a humble gift from my heart, it's little but accept it. I had to do this from my savings but I know that something better is coming soon. Let's keep praying and believe that it will get to us soon.

"Christmas and New Year gifts from my office will continue into the new year. This is just the phase one, phases two and three will follow as soon as possible, because the media is an integral part of government and good governance.

"Governor Okowa is media friendly and he has done well by partnering effectively with the Press and he will continue to franternise with the media while in Aso Rock from May 29, next year as Vice President of Nigeria, by the grace of God.

"I wish to humbly appeal to you to continue the good work, projecting Atiku-Okowa for President and Sheriff-Onyeme for Governor, to reset Nigeria and advancing Delta beyond 2023," Oghenesivbe said.

The group observed a minute silence in honour of the wife of CMPG's Delta South Deputy Chairman, Mrs Chinyere Charity Ekengbuda, and offered prayers for her husband, Toju Robinson Ekengbuda and the family, for God to grant them the fortitude to bear and overcome this time of grief.

PTI Defends Its Reputation Against Misleading Sahara Media Report By Wilson Macaulay Effurun, Delta State July 12 2025 The Management of the prestigious Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, has vehemently refuted a sensational and malicious report published by Sahara Reporters on July 10, 2025, which alleged that students of the foremost oil and gas institution study in “flooded classrooms and snake-infested hostels” despite a ₦39 billion budget. Describing the publication as “baseless, mischievous, and an orchestrated attempt to malign the integrity of the institution,” PTI Management said the report is not only factually inaccurate but also a deliberate attack on the hard-earned reputation and progress of the institution under its current leadership. In a strongly worded statement issued on Friday, the management declared: > “There are absolutely no flooded classrooms or snake-infested hostels within the Institute. These claims are complete fabrications devoid of any evidence or truth.” Management further challenged Sahara Reporters to produce any verifiable photographic or video proof to substantiate its claims. > “If such conditions exist as alleged, Sahara Reporters should have no difficulty presenting concrete evidence. Until then, their report remains a reckless misrepresentation aimed at misleading the public.” PTI clarified that all its lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, and hostels are structurally sound, properly ventilated, electrically powered, and routinely maintained. The Institute prides itself on maintaining a safe and conducive academic environment for learning, innovation, and professional development in the oil and gas sector. The management in clear terms described the publication as the work of “unscrupulous elements seeking to sow discord and cast aspersions on the steady infrastructural development PTI has recorded in recent years.” As a center of excellence in petroleum training and manpower development, PTI has, under its current administration, seen remarkable transformation in terms of physical infrastructure, digital modernization, and student welfare programs. The Institute continues to attract local and international recognition for its cutting-edge research and high-impact training curriculum. While assuring stakeholders, parents, and the general public of its unwavering commitment to the safety and welfare of its students, the management reiterated its call for responsible journalism and urged media practitioners to verify facts before rushing to publication. “We remain focused on our mandate and will not be distracted by smear campaigns designed to derail our progress.”
