Governor Okowa Gives Staff of Office To Bini Pere lV The Agadagba of Egbema kingdom

The Delta State governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, ably represented by the deputy governor, Dcn. Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, has presented the staff of office and instrument of appointment to HRM. Amb. Meshack E. A. Ubabiri, Bini Pere IV, Agadagba of Egbema kingdom, in Warri North local government in Delta state.The Agadagba expressed appreciation for the Delta State government in his welcome speech.

"Firstly, all glory goes to God Almighty for making it possible for me to ascend the throne of my fathers and making this auspicious occasion a reality. 

My selection, installation, and traditional coronation as Bini-Pere IV, Agadagba of the revered Egbema Kingdom, are not accidents. As you would recall, the stool of the Agadagba of Egbema Kingdom became vacant in June 2020 following the demise of HRM G.O.E. Tiemo, Bini Pere lll, Agadagba of Egbema Kingdom of blessed memory, who hailed from Opuama/Polobubou Ruling House. In line with the gazette establishing the kingdom, it was the turn of the Ogbudugbudu ruling house to produce the next king. Providence fell on me, having fulfilled all traditional rites and the traditional coronation, and I was proclaimed and presented as the Agadagba of Egbema Kingdom on the 23rd of November, 2022.

"At this juncture, I have the distinguished honor and pleasure to formally thank His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, CON, Your Excellency, Deputy Governor Barr. Deacon Kingsley Otuaro, for your revered presence, the State Executive Council for the approval of the staff of office, and all other government functionaries who played significant roles along the way. His Excellency, I also want to use this medium to appreciate your people oriented government for the laudable projects you have executed in my kingdom, such as the overhead bridge at Polobubou, the slipway at Ogbinbiri, water projects in all my major communities, renovation of health facilities, construction of school buildings, the recently approved two-kilometer Ogbinbiri/Ogbudugbudu road, and other projects.

H.E. Kingsley Otuaro, the deputy governor, said in his address that, "the cooperation that makes today's event possible remains a perfection and confirmation of traditional rights and processes that mark the throne of the agadagba of the Egbema kingdom,

"I am pleased with the love and peace that accompanied all of the processes and proceedings because the kingdom has bestowed all of its hallmarks and confidence on him."

Therefore, the delta state government is using this medium to appeal to his royal majesty to maintain and improve the stature of his exalted office by leading his people to greater prosperity in an atmosphere of love, understanding, and mutual respect between the royal throne and the people of Egbema kingdom and beyond."I also urge you to be transparent while upholding justice, fair play, and equity in all your dealings with your subjects."

He went on to admonish the King, "In everything you do and in every decision you take, I employ you to place the interests of the majority of people and the fear of God above all other considerations." Please ensure that you encourage the free flow of communication, dialogue, and consultation with all segments of the kingdom. "As an age-old graceroot leadership institution, the government will continue to rely on the traditional rulers as a dependable medium for reaching their people."

PTI Defends Its Reputation Against Misleading Sahara Media Report By Wilson Macaulay Effurun, Delta State July 12 2025 The Management of the prestigious Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, has vehemently refuted a sensational and malicious report published by Sahara Reporters on July 10, 2025, which alleged that students of the foremost oil and gas institution study in “flooded classrooms and snake-infested hostels” despite a ₦39 billion budget. Describing the publication as “baseless, mischievous, and an orchestrated attempt to malign the integrity of the institution,” PTI Management said the report is not only factually inaccurate but also a deliberate attack on the hard-earned reputation and progress of the institution under its current leadership. In a strongly worded statement issued on Friday, the management declared: > “There are absolutely no flooded classrooms or snake-infested hostels within the Institute. These claims are complete fabrications devoid of any evidence or truth.” Management further challenged Sahara Reporters to produce any verifiable photographic or video proof to substantiate its claims. > “If such conditions exist as alleged, Sahara Reporters should have no difficulty presenting concrete evidence. Until then, their report remains a reckless misrepresentation aimed at misleading the public.” PTI clarified that all its lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, and hostels are structurally sound, properly ventilated, electrically powered, and routinely maintained. The Institute prides itself on maintaining a safe and conducive academic environment for learning, innovation, and professional development in the oil and gas sector. The management in clear terms described the publication as the work of “unscrupulous elements seeking to sow discord and cast aspersions on the steady infrastructural development PTI has recorded in recent years.” As a center of excellence in petroleum training and manpower development, PTI has, under its current administration, seen remarkable transformation in terms of physical infrastructure, digital modernization, and student welfare programs. The Institute continues to attract local and international recognition for its cutting-edge research and high-impact training curriculum.
