Ogbe - ljoh Warri Kingdom Set To Host Deltans As Amafini -Oge Festival Comes Up Tomorrow , January 14th - Chief Koridigha

As the Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom completes preparations for its annual Amafini Festival, Delta State will witness traditional festivity at its pinnacle, which traditional analysts have prophesied will be a celebration galore.


The historic celebration will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at precisely 10am, according to information recently made available to newsmen in Warri and signed by the Olori-In- Council on behalf of the residents of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom, Chief Hitler Koridigha.


Chief Koridigha stated that guests from all walks of life are anticipated to attend the historic event.

He had insisted that the Amafini-oge event, has been around for about 1003 year's now, the event will showcase different unique aspects like, Ogele dance (dance procession), cultural dance competitions, and many more.


To honor the historic Amafini celebration, the people of Ogbe-Ijoh had, nevertheless, extended an invitation to all lovers of tradition, sons and daughters of the Kingdom, and Ijaws and the general public from all over the world.

However, Chief Koridigha had further indicated that the ceremony would take place at the main town of Ogbe-Ijoh, which serves as the administrative center for the Delta region's Warri South West Local Government Area.


At the celebration, the well-known Ijaw musician BEST MAY will give a live performance.


Chief Koridigha claims that the exquisitely decorated masquerades for the Amafini celebration always dance on top of water for a few minutes before disappearing into the water, leaving onlookers puzzled as to what is really going on.

Further information revealed that no camera has ever been able to record these masquerades performing above the water, possibly due to the spiritual nature of the event.
