Governor-Elect and award winning Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, is adequately prepared to provide quality leadership that would upscale the gains of democracy for the good people of Delta State.

The assurance was re-echoed on Wednesday in Asaba, by the Executive Assistant on Communications to Delta State Governor, Olorogun Barr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, while speaking to newsmen at the end of tenure valedictory interactive session  organized by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Civil Engagement and Civil Society, Activist Rex Anighoro.

He said the incoming governor has been a system player in the inner workings of government, coupled with his wealth of experience as the longest serving speaker with genuine desire to serve, assuring that there shall be no dull moments once the mantle of leadership shifts from the incumbent governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, CON, to Rt Hon Sheriff Francis  Oborevwori, JP, on May 29.

Oghenesivbe said Oborevwori's detractors were prepared to destroy his reputation and end his political career before the governorship election, but that God showed up, coupled with the deployment of strategic communication to deflate and explain the facts which invariably kept the opposition at the back seat throughout the electioneering period.

He said strategic communication cum effective crisis communication management is an integral part of governance in Constitutional Democracies; essentially meant to protect, project and sustain the integrity and pedigree of political gladiators, leaders, political office holders and key players in government, as well as promote government policies, programmes and achievements.

Oghenesivbe disclosed that the Office of the Executive Assistant on Communications to Delta State Governor, has professionally, doggedly and tenaciously deployed strategic communication in the past six years to either neutralize or resolve multifaceted propagandas and media onslaughts sponsored by opposition parties and their leaders against the state government and the governor, while political communication strategies was intensified before, during and after the just concluded elections to resolve critical crisis communication strategies triggered by opposition political parties and their failed candidates.

"The incoming governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, has inestimable political willpower that will enable him govern Delta State effectively and efficiently. And as a man with good conscience, his decisions and leadership style shall endear him to the hearts of all Deltans within the first one hundred days in office.

"The M.O.R.E agenda is a proof that he's prepared to effectively lead and govern the state, create job and wealth for our people, develop infrastructure and grow the state economy for eight years.

"Oborevwori's detractors obviously underestimated his political willpower and Faith in God. He is an overcomer and God's Grace beneficiary, his leadership charisma is absolutely positive and magnetic. He's bold and courageous.

"The opposition candidates in the just concluded election could not present tangible and convincing manifestos or agendas to the electorates, whereas Oborevwori's M.O.R.E agenda was well articulated and adopted during electioneering campaigns by the good people of Delta State. And as a man who honour his words, all his electioneering campaign promises shall be fulfilled," Oghenesivbe assured.

Barrister Oghenesivbe who is also the Delta PDP Campaign Council spokesperson commended Activist Rex Anighoro, for his quality service to the state and to governor Okowa, saying that he was able to effectively explain government policies, programmes and achievements to the civil society Community in the past eight years of this administration.

"Rex Anighoro is one of Delta's best, doing well in his calling as rights activist, promoter of social justice, and indeed a unique fellow in civil engagements. I wish him well and I have no doubt in my mind that he will continue to be a valuable asset to Delta State and Nigeria," Oghenesivbe added.

PTI Defends Its Reputation Against Misleading Sahara Media Report By Wilson Macaulay Effurun, Delta State July 12 2025 The Management of the prestigious Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, has vehemently refuted a sensational and malicious report published by Sahara Reporters on July 10, 2025, which alleged that students of the foremost oil and gas institution study in “flooded classrooms and snake-infested hostels” despite a ₦39 billion budget. Describing the publication as “baseless, mischievous, and an orchestrated attempt to malign the integrity of the institution,” PTI Management said the report is not only factually inaccurate but also a deliberate attack on the hard-earned reputation and progress of the institution under its current leadership. In a strongly worded statement issued on Friday, the management declared: > “There are absolutely no flooded classrooms or snake-infested hostels within the Institute. These claims are complete fabrications devoid of any evidence or truth.” Management further challenged Sahara Reporters to produce any verifiable photographic or video proof to substantiate its claims. > “If such conditions exist as alleged, Sahara Reporters should have no difficulty presenting concrete evidence. Until then, their report remains a reckless misrepresentation aimed at misleading the public.” PTI clarified that all its lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, and hostels are structurally sound, properly ventilated, electrically powered, and routinely maintained. The Institute prides itself on maintaining a safe and conducive academic environment for learning, innovation, and professional development in the oil and gas sector. The management in clear terms described the publication as the work of “unscrupulous elements seeking to sow discord and cast aspersions on the steady infrastructural development PTI has recorded in recent years.” As a center of excellence in petroleum training and manpower development, PTI has, under its current administration, seen remarkable transformation in terms of physical infrastructure, digital modernization, and student welfare programs. The Institute continues to attract local and international recognition for its cutting-edge research and high-impact training curriculum. While assuring stakeholders, parents, and the general public of its unwavering commitment to the safety and welfare of its students, the management reiterated its call for responsible journalism and urged media practitioners to verify facts before rushing to publication. “We remain focused on our mandate and will not be distracted by smear campaigns designed to derail our progress.”
