2023 Kabba Day Central Planning Committee Visits Oba Solomon, Obaro of Kabba


 



Ahead of the 2023 Kabba Day Celebrations later this year, the Central Planning Committee led by its chairman Barrister Segun Modeyin and Secretary, Mr Justin Bello  has paid courtesy visit to the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman, Okun Area Traditional Council, HRM, Oba (Dr) Solomon Dele Owoniyi to inform him of their appointment as committee members, asked for his support, cooperation and also to discuss the way forward for the community.


Speaking at the palace, Barrister Modeyin first congratulated the monarch for the newly established Kogi State University, Kabba by the Kogi State Government under the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello and other developmental projects that have been recorded in recent time, describing the kind gesture during his reign as monumental to the advancement of the soci-economic development of the area.


He said the committee was inaugurated two weeks ago by the President - General of the Kabba Development Union (KDU), Engr. Emmanuel Ajibero to organize a world class cultural events that will showcase and promote the rich cultural and traditional heritages of the people of Kabba (Owe) kingdom, stressing that the committee cannot do anything without informing the paramount ruler of land and also seek his endorsement for them to carry on the assignment.


The committee promised to organize a hitch free event that will attract dignitaries from all walks of life, across all spectrum of sectors globally, while assuring that all and sundry will be carried along to have a successful outing later this year.


While reacting, the Revere monarch thanked the committee for deeming it fit to pay him a courtesy visit, stressing that he is ever ready to welcome  ideas that will promote peace, unity and development of not only Kabba community but the entire Okunland, pointing  out that celebration of cultural day is a good thing that should be encouraged across various communities. 


He noted that Governor Yahaya Bello has done so much for Okunland especially on the recently established state owned University sited in Kabba, pointing out that most of the good things that have eluded Okun land before will be restore by the grace of God in no distance time.


The monarch while congratulating them, urged the committee to carry along all segments of the community and also draw out programs that will make the day memorable and  that since this year is electioneering year, they should be conscious of their actions as not to heat up the polity, pointing out that he is  ready to support and cooperate with them to have a successful event.

The management in clear terms described the publication as the work of “unscrupulous elements seeking to sow discord and cast aspersions on the steady infrastructural development PTI has recorded in recent years.” As a center of excellence in petroleum training and manpower development, PTI has, under its current administration, seen remarkable transformation in terms of physical infrastructure, digital modernization, and student welfare programs.
