Ekpan Agog As Okugbe Primary School Honors Chief (Mrs) Victoria Umukoro

 The  Management and Staff   of Okugbe  Primary School Ekpan, comprising of the 

 Academic and non Academic Staff

and the entire  learners   

on 

 Thursday 2nd November, 2023 celebrated Chief ( Mrs) Victoria Umukoro   Who served the Delta State Ministry of Education  meritoriously and     retired with

so many garlands to her credit 

as the Head Teacher of  Okugbe Primary  School Ekpan in  year 2020.

 ceremony which

was held amidst  pomp and pageantry in a grand style at the School Play ground along Hospital Road  Ekpan was chaired by a former

Delta State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice,

 Chief Victor E Otomiewo, the  Unuevworo of  Abo' Oriokor Ekpan,  Uvwie Kingdom .

Who were Present and decorated at the high table  includes ,the Mother

of the Day, Deaconess R . Onoyake, the Education Secretary of Uvwie LGA,

Chief Best Umukoro (JP)  the husband of the  Chief  Celebrant , the Base Chairman, Chief Otemu Oyege ,

Comrade Francis Obule JP Who represented the Delta State  Justice of Peace Association at the event

and many others too numerous to be mentioned.


The Head Teacher of Okugbe Primary School , Ekpan , Mrs Omofuoma Charity  the Chief host

of the Day  in her welcome address

described Chief (Mrs) Victoria Umukoro as a virtuous Woman , an

inspiring Personality with a deep sense of service to humanity.


The Head Teacher noted in her speech  that  very few women

in Uvwie in particular and Delta State in general  can match the

giant strides of Chief (Mrs) Victoria

Umukoro in the teaching profession at the Primary and Post Primary

school level.



Mrs Omofuoma Charity further poured encomiums on the Chief

celebrant, saying : "" Chief (Mrs) Victoria Umukoro   is indeed  a role model to those of us Who are still in service and upcoming potential teachers  because she is a woman

whose bearing in and out of office

even in retirement is exemplary."



Daily independent newspaper extract from the citation indicates that Chief (Mrs) Victoria Umukoro was born into the the family of late Chief Moses Otomiewo of Ekpan,

with the foundation of her brilliant

academic career starting at the 

Roman Catholic Mission School

(RCM) now Alero Primary School

inside Marine Quarters, Warri from 1968 -1974, Sapele Technical College ( STC) 1974 - 1979, ST Michael College Oleh , the headquarters of lsoko South LGA.



The citation revealed that Chief (Mrs) Victoria Umukoro in the quest to further her education proceeded to

the Delta State University, Abraka in 2001 where she graduated in 2004

with the Bachelor of Education, B. ED, measuring in health education.


The Chairman of the Occasion, Chief Victor Otomiewo, the Unuevworo of Abo'Oriokor ,

Ekpan during his speech commended the laudable effort 

Chief (Mrs) Victoria Umukoro the  well celebrated retired Head Teacher of Okugbe Primary School Ekpan for making her modest contributions to the learning environment and giving back to the society .


Chief Victor Otomiewo who was indeed proud of Chief (Mrs)Victoria Umukoro as an  Amazon of an excellent class said: " l am very happy  to note that the  citation captured   a dossier

of her contributions to the development of Okugbe Primary School in particular and the education sector in general,

particularly, for single handling 

  establishing   a Creche in Okugbe Primary  School, the renovation of Teachers Toilet, Provision of flags and poles, Provision of Chairs and tables for

the teachers, upgrading  and general  furnishing of Head Teacher Office, Provision of a Modern big sign board , wall clock, bulletin board, 60 pieces of academic gowns KG learners etc. "



Chief Victor Otomiewo, the Chairman of the occasion who

shed more light on the sterling qualities of Chief( Mrs) Victoria Umukoro, said: " From what we heard from her citation, good things

are like the biblical light which shines in darkness  and the darkness cannot overcome the light

that is why the Hon Commissioner,

 Basic & Secondary Education wrote an appreciation letter to thank the celebrant Chief (Mrs) Victoria Umukoro on the 29th of August 2019, with another letter of appreciation in 2020 even at retirement from Chief Patrick Ukah

former  Delta State Hon Commissioner for  Education for

the  immeasurable contributions

of this woman to the progress and advancement of Okugbe Primary School.

who represented the Delta State Justice of Peace Association at the event described Chief( Mrs) Victoria Umukoro as a rare breed that is committed to the building of a  better society no matter whose ox is gored.
