Obule, Tangbeowei, Mabiaku others Receives Meritorious Service Award

Comrade Francis Obule  (JP),

a  Chieftain of the People's Democratic Party from Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State  has received   a meritorious service award of honor  from  the DESOPADEC Indigenous Contractors Forum( DICF) under the leadership of Engr Ogie Samson.



The well attended event which was held  on Sunday  17th December 2023  at Durax Hotel And 

Suites close to the Warri Refinery had  the list of others  honored during the ceremony including 

 Chief James Tangbowei , Hon Sunny Mabiaku and others

the Pioneer Chairman of the DESOPADEC Indigenous Contractors Forum who was elated in his acceptance  speech 

dedicated the award first  to God Almighty , and secondly to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State in commendation of his effort in breaking the record of bringing Julius Berger to Delta State to change the narrative of our road

infrastructures for better in line with the MORE Agenda.



Obule in his Goodwill message also thanked Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for appointing  a good  crop of men like Hon Chief John Nani as Chairman  in the DESOPADEC board , Chief Festus Ochonogor as MD/CEO, Olorogun

Talib Tebite as Executive Director Project, and  Hon Kome as Executive Director Finance and Administration who are handling the affairs of the Commission very well  to the constellation of all stakeholders across board.


According to him, without the cooperation of the DESOPADEC Management board, the activities of the Forum will be an uphill task, hence the commendation of the DESOPADEC Management board which understands the place and the role of Indigenous Contractors Forum in the smooth running of

the Commission.


Obule who attested in his speech  that the DESOPADEC Indigenous Contactors Forum is  waxing stronger added : " Looking back at where we are coming from and where the Union is now,, with the Engr Ogie Samson  and the competent Secretary, Mr Charles Ebigbagha led exco on the saddle of leadership, we are indeed very proud to see the Union waxing stronger by the grace of God."


Speaking further, he said : " Engr Ogie Samson has made a land mark by organising this unique ceremony to give honor to whom it is due, to him and his able Exco who together are pulling the strings with the leadership to get things going for the good of all , l say more grace to carry on successfully in all

the Forum's  endeavours."

the DESOPADEC Indigenous Contractors  Forum earlier  in his welcome address called for unity of purpose between all the ethnic nationalities that  makes up DESOPADEC to always work together as one so that they  can make more progress as a people.




While Speaking on the award given to the Pioneer Chairman, he said:   "Comrade Francis Obule( JP) the number one Choice of the people honored,  is a man  of honor who labored to give birth to the Forum we are enjoying today."


He emphasized: "  Comrade Francis Obule (JP) is a man to whom honor is due, that is why we are here gathered to say thank you  for all he has done for the Forum as the pioneer Chairman."



The DESOPADEC Indigenous Contractors Forum Chairman who  stressed the need for prevailing peace  said:  " There is no reason to fight ourselves, instead the various tribes need to see themselves as one so that outsiders will not capitalize on the rancours to dupe us of  our God given wealth."

The management in clear terms described the publication as the work of “unscrupulous elements seeking to sow discord and cast aspersions on the steady infrastructural development PTI has recorded in recent years.” As a center of excellence in petroleum training and manpower development, PTI has, under its current administration, seen remarkable transformation in terms of physical infrastructure, digital modernization, and student welfare programs. The Institute continues to attract local and international recognition for its cutting-edge research and high-impact training curriculum. While assuring stakeholders, parents, and the general public of its unwavering commitment to the safety and welfare of its students, the management reiterated its call for responsible journalism and urged media practitioners to verify facts before rushing to publication. “We remain focused on our mandate and will not be distracted by smear campaigns designed to derail our progress.”
