Saint Vincent's College Old Student Association Okwagbe Set To Celebrate Diamond Jubilee on December 9, 2023

All is set and  anticipation is building up as  Saint Vincent's College Old Student Association (SVCOSA) Okwagbe , Ughelli South Local Government Area of

Delta State  prepares for an exuberant and grandiose  celebration of its Diamond Jubilee on December 9, 2023. 



The event which  promises to be a vibrant and colorful affair, reflecting the rich history and achievements of the  the College and the Association over the past six decades have  the dynamic leadership of Prof G.G. Darah, who served as the first senior prefect of the school, for four consecutive tenure of four years, he  is the star celebrant and he is the  National President , Engr Paul Agboro  Vice President ,

and Mr. Matthew Osara Shaguolo, as the National Secretary.

be in attendance are Ambassador

Oma Djebah, who is just back from his diplomatic mission in Theiland, the erudite  Prof Emperor kpangban, the central Organizing Committee Chairman, Hon  Sunday Kpikpi Kotor the Powerful Mobilization Committee Chairman, Col Morris Ideh (RTD) the Chairman Cash Drive  Committee,  Ambassador Felix Dantowei,  the Diaspora Coordinator, Dan Siloko, Lagos co-ordinator and Otedoh Efeturi Abuja co-ordinator.


Other esteemed celebrant on the list are , Mark Adams,  Sir Henry Kojo, Barr Michael Djebah, Olorogun Ochonrayen Sleek Oshare, Olorogun

Okiemute Oviri Okwagbe (JP),  Esenuinakahor JB Akon, Sir Patrick Kogbodi,  Elder Oyibo Joseph Foghi Hawkins Kayomavoro Ofigo , Bishop Oyevwevotu  Vhovhen  and many other donors, who contributed in no small measure for the  actualization  and  success of the diamond and founder's day jubilee celebration.

(SVCOSA) has flourished as a cohesive community that values education, camaraderie, and service to our father land in affirmation to the motto of the School which is  Character, Discipline, Academics,

Never Despair.


The Diamond Jubilee celebration marks 60 years since the establishment of the Association, and the Organizing committee, led  by Prof Emperor kpangban has spared no effort in ensuring a successful, jubilant and memorable event  is witnessed 



 Festivities are expected to  kick off with a grand procession through the streets of Okwagbe Community, showcasing the unity and pride of SVCOSA members.The main event will take place at the iconic Saint Vincent's College ground, where alumni from different generations are expected to converge in reunion, and to reminisce about their school days and celebrate the enduring bond that ties them together. 


Renowned speakers, including notable alumni and local dignitaries, are scheduled to share insights and anecdotes about the pivotal role SVCOSA has played in the community and beyond.



A highlight of the celebration is the unveiling of a commemorative renovated three ( 3)classroom of one Block  and a Science laboratory.One of our own, Mr 

Felix Kporhotor in a reflective moment said  the aesthetic beauty of the building symbolizes  the enduring legacy of Saint Vincent's College and the Old Student Association commitment to the wellbeing of their almamater.


The diamond jubilee is designed to capture the essence of the Association's journey, and the activities to be unfolded will stand as a testament to the contributions of SVCOSA to education and community development.

The  second or evening session will be filled with cultural performances, live music, and a dazzling display of fireworks, creating a festive atmosphere that resonates with the joy and nostalgia of the occasion. 



Attendees can also look forward to a gala dinner, where the camaraderie Spirit among SVCOSA members will be celebrated over a sumptuous feast.As the Diamond Jubilee approaches, SVCOSA members are expressing their excitement and anticipation for what promises to be a truly colorful and memorable celebration, as the jingles pervade the air while the Social Media Space is already abuzz with what is expected to come.

 Elder Godfrey Kpikpi, in his commentary described the  association's commitment to 'fostering unity, educational excellence, and community service as undoubted heritage to be showcased during this milestone event, leaving an indelible mark on the history of Saint Vincent's College and its proud alumni.'

Describing the publication as “baseless, mischievous, and an orchestrated attempt to malign the integrity of the institution,” PTI Management said the report is not only factually inaccurate but also a deliberate attack on the hard-earned reputation and progress of the institution under its current leadership. In a strongly worded statement issued on Friday, the management declared: > “There are absolutely no flooded classrooms or snake-infested hostels within the Institute. These claims are complete fabrications devoid of any evidence or truth.” Management further challenged Sahara Reporters to produce any verifiable photographic or video proof to substantiate its claims. > “If such conditions exist as alleged, Sahara Reporters should have no difficulty presenting concrete evidence. Until then, their report remains a reckless misrepresentation aimed at misleading the public.” PTI clarified that all its lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, and hostels are structurally sound, properly ventilated, electrically powered, and routinely maintained. The Institute prides itself on maintaining a safe and conducive academic environment for learning, innovation, and professional development in the oil and gas sector. The management in clear terms described the publication as the work of “unscrupulous elements seeking to sow discord and cast aspersions on the steady infrastructural development PTI has recorded in recent years.” As a center of excellence in petroleum training and manpower development, PTI has, under its current administration, seen remarkable transformation in terms of physical infrastructure, digital modernization, and student welfare programs. The Institute continues to attract local and international recognition for its cutting-edge research and high-impact training curriculum. While assuring stakeholders, parents, and the general public of its unwavering commitment to the safety and welfare of its students, the management reiterated its call for responsible journalism and urged media practitioners to verify facts before rushing to publication. “We remain focused on our mandate and will not be distracted by smear campaigns designed to derail our progress.”
