Comrade Francis Obule Chairs Delta ICE Inter-House Sports, Organized at Cavegina Primary School, Warri

On Thursday ,29th March ,the Delta State Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) witnessed an exhilarating display of athleticism as students from various houses competed in the 1st  biannual Inter-House Sports event, hosted at  the the premises of the popular Cavegina Primary School, Warri.


The event which was  graced by esteemed dignitaries, like Mr Onyema Chukwuma Edwin, Mrs Odeimo Kena, lCE Zonal Coordinator,

 Dr S. O Ugbejeh, Chief lnspector of Education, Warri South LGA, had 

Comrade Francis Obule JP, the Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Political Matters, serving as the distinguished chairman of the occasion.


Comrade Francis Obule JP, the Senior Governor Aide while making his opening  speech in his capacity as the Chairman of the Occasion  expressed his overwhelming joy before the  esteemed guests present and the participants,

waiting with anticipation to kick start the competition.


Obule stated that Inter-House Sports is a medium through which young talents are discovered and groomed for the betterment of our lager society hence it is necessary for all participants to  be serious with the games while parents should encourage their children to participate in  athletics and other sports.





 Comrade Obule who introduced  himself as a Product of ICE ,  said: " l am a product of lCE, so l am one of you, meaning Education is not a scam. l am back here today as the Patron of Green House. By the grace of God i have donated a trophy to the School with

other donations  the Lord has laid in  my heart to do in my modest capacity as a public servant."


 He added: " lt is with great honor and enthusiasm that I welcome you all to the Inter-House Sports Competition organized by the Institute of Continuing Education (ICE). As the Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Political Matters, and today's chairman, I am deeply delighted to witness this wonderful display of sportsmanship and

l assure you that our indifatigable Governor using the instruments of the MORE Agenta Will take Delta State to the Promise land."


Continuing Obule said:" Today, we gather not only to compete but to celebrate the values of teamwork, determination, and excellence. Let us embrace the spirit of fair play and uphold the principles of sportsmanship as we engage in friendly competition. May this event foster unity and friendship among us all. "

while thanking Comrade Francis Obule for donating a very good looking trophy for  the institute, she however, solicited for more trophies to meet up with the desired standard the institute is aiming at.

She assured the audience to expect better days ahead for ICE Warri.

Comade Deborah Bazunu , the Head Teacher of Cavagina Primary, Venue of the event expressed gratitude to the Management of ICE and thank the organizing committee for steering the event to a huge success.


The lnter -House Sports  management committee  under the  coordination of, Udjagun Pedro witnessed a vibrant atmosphere filled with joy  as he  recrived cheers from admirers as the institute ambassador working round the clock to ensure seamless organization,  to make  participants and spectators alike enjoy a memorable experience.




. Dr. S.O. Ugbejeh, Chief Inspector of Education for Warri South LGA, added prestige to the occasion by giving special treat  adequate for royals for all personalities present. 





In a thrilling showcase of talent and sportsmanship, the Red House, under the patronship  of HRM Igbi II, emerged victorious with an impressive 108 points, clinching the top position in the

1st biannual lnter-House Sports competition of the Institute of Continuing Education, Warri

 The Orange House, under the Patronship of Mr. Onyealusi Christian, secured the second position, showcasing their dedication and skill as

up  coming athlects who are sure set for higher glory in the future.


Hon. Francis Obule JP's Green House demonstrated commendable performance, claiming the third position amidst fierce competition. The Yellow House, under the  patronship of Chief Julius Edafiadjebre, took the fourth position, while the Blue House with Ama Agbajoh as Patron showcased resilience to secure the fifth position.


The Highlight of the occasion was the Presentation of trophy with frenzy and very loud ovation  to the winning red House by Comrade Francis Obule the Chairman of the day.


It is necessary to remark that the 

event  did not only celebrated athletic prowess but also fostered  the opportunity to groom and showcase the young talents  , encourage  teamwork among the students, promote  values of discipline and dedication. 


The success of the event underscored the importance of sports in education, instilling values of resilience, teamwork, and healthy competition among the youth of Delta State. With the unwavering support of leaders like Comrade Francis Obule JP, this kind of  initiatives Will  continue to thrive, shaping the future generation into well-rounded individuals.


 Participants departed with their  memories  filled with excitement and bliss of  sportsmanship,  as they eagerly

await , anticipating the next edition of the Delta ICE Inter-House Sports.
