Angry Youth Association of Nigeria (AYAN), Condemned Malicious Campaign Against Dango, Passes Vote of Confidence on Him, As They Asked MD of NDDC , General Public to Disregard Evil Elements Campaign

By Wilson Macaulay

The Angry Youth Association of Nigeria (AYAN), a notable  pressure group aka unemployed youths of Nigeria, in  the Niger Delta, has condemned the malicious campaign against Matthew Dango, the Special Adviser to the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) on Youth Affairs.

The Niger Delta Youth body made this bold statement during  a press conference in Port Harcourt, led by the National President of AYAN, General Waritimi Parker,  the association passed a vote of confidence on Dango, urging  MD of NDDC,stakeholders across  board  and  the general public to disregard the baseless allegations aimed at tarnishing Dango's reputation.

General Parker, the  National President of AYAN emphasized Dango's significant contributions to youth development, including skills acquisition programs, educational scholarships, and entrepreneurial support  which are  indeed invaluable.

He criticized the accusers, describing their actions as desperate attempts to undermine Dango's achievements due to their inefficiencies and inability to align with NDDC's progressive vision under the leadership of Engr Samuel Ogbuku, the talk na do MD of NDDC.

General Parker the  AYAN National President noted  that the claims made by the authors of those publications against Dango were at best a figment of their own imagination  fabricated to  smear his hard earned good image. The  Ex- warlord reaffirmed the unwavering support of the youths in the Niger Delta for Dango, urging the NDDC MD, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, and other relevant stakeholders to continue believing Dango and to focus on the region's development and prosperity no matter whose ox is gored.

Comrade Soyimiegha  Kevin National Mobilisation Officer of AYAN Who also spoke during the Press conference, made a detailed clarification of what led to the communication gap, saying: " lt is necessary and germane for me to make some clarification which is vital for us understand  the crux of the issue at hand.

He said: " ln  my capacity as the Mobilizing Officer of AYAN, I got across to Hon Matthew Dango to hear from him what actually transpired in the recent Niger Delta Youth Leaders and Stakeholders Engagement between the MD of NDDC and the Commission Management Team Which was organized  strictly based on invitation."

He further remarked: "Dango  explained to me  that as it turned out, some persons came to the Summit without being invited, but the NDDC Management magnanimously allowed them to participate and even lodged them in hotel rooms to express love ,solidarity, and unity of one purpose towards them so that they Will not feel neglected."

Speaking further, Comrade Soyimiegha  Kevin National Mobilisation Officer of AYAN said: "  indeed my confirmation,  from Dango revealed that ,

when the official conference  allowance or stipends  that accompanied the event was released, for participants  to be reimbursed with alert, the names of those who  were not officially invited were not captured, so there was no stipends or conference allowance for them even though they were accommodated in the Stakeholders Engagement."

According to Soyimiegha, Dango explained that

since the  NDDC Management did not budget for uninvited persons earlier during the preparatory  stage of the  stakeholders engagement summit he could not do otherwise to include those that were not invited for conference payment alert list.

Comrade Soyimiegha, the  AYAN  National Mobilisation Officer who stressed that the complaints came out of false information , concluded saying: " Let us not build mountains out of ant hills, we don't need to cry foul when there is none, Matthew Dango acted in good fate by accommodating even those who were not invited but it is beyond his power to implement what is not officially approved by the  NDDC Management. So clearly, the complainants calling out Dango, acted in error."

Soyimiegha , the AYAN mouth piece added: " Matthew Dango is doing a good job, on behalf of all the Niger Delta Youths, the leadership of AYAN once again commend his laudable effort for proving his mettle as a dependable Ambassador of the Youths of the  Niger Delta region."

General Parker, the AYAN President, in his conclusion statement said: "It is clear that AYAN's endorsement of Dango underscores his  pivotal role in empowering the Niger Delta's Youths.  Our candid support for Dango  is an incontrovertible evidence of the  immerse contribution of this young man towards Youth improvement  in the Niger Delta. From  the Prism of the general view of the Niger Delta People,

it  is obvious that  Dango is indeed a reliable youth Ambassador. We here  by  call for unity and continued support for  Dango who is on duty to speak for the betterment of the Niger Delta Youth at all times.
