Spurious Allegation Against Tompolo: Niger Delta Humanitarian Rights Group Caution Ariyo of Defamation of Character

In a strong and unequivocal condemnation of the recent allegations leveled against High Chief DR Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, and his Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL),  Peace Development Security and Humanitarian Rights Association, led by its President, Comrade Mike JK Tiemo, has described the  spurious accusations against Tompolo as “baseless and malicious propaganda.” The group described  the alleged masterminds, the Itsekiri Communities Advocates, led by Barrister Robinson Ariyo, as “mischief merchants bent on undermining the progress and peace in the Niger Delta region.”

In a statement released on Monday, Comrade Mike Tiemo the  Group President declared that the Niger Delta cannot afford to be dragged back into chaos by "unpatriotic and self-serving individuals who are clearly on a mission to derail the gains achieved in securing Nigeria’s oil and gas infrastructure by Tantita Security Company since his commencement.

A Black Market Lie to Tarnish a Patriot

Comrade Mike Tiemo did not mince words, accusing Barrister Ariyo and his cohorts of orchestrating a smear campaign against Tompolo, whom he described as a “true patriot and a beacon of hope for Niger Delta and Nigeria as a whole.

“It is disheartening that individuals claiming to represent community interests would resort to concocting black market lies to tarnish the image of a man whose contributions to the peace, security, and development of the Niger Delta are unparalleled,” he said.

The Peace Group leader further noted that the allegations of Tantita Security stockpiling firearms were "fabrications designed to distract from the commendable strides made by the security outfit in combating crude oil theft, pipeline vandalism, and other nefarious activities in the region."

Tompolo’s Unrivaled Contributions to Regional Stability

Highlighting the achievements of Tantita Security under Tompolo’s leadership, Comrade Mike Tiemo eulogized  the organization for its unwavering commitment to protection  of Nigeria’s oil assets and restoring environmental integrity to the Niger Delta region.

“Tompolo’s efforts through Tantita Security have not only curbed oil theft but have also facilitated the restoration of aquatic life and revitalized the fishing and agricultural industries that once suffered under the weight of environmental degradation caused by illegal oil bunkering,” Comrade Mike Tiemo stated.

He added that the Niger Delta region is experiencing a renewed sense of security and economic vibrancy through the effort of Tantita Security’s collaboration with government security agencies.

A Call for Accountability and Sanction

Comrade Mike Tiemo called on the Federal Government and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to dismiss the allegations as the antics of “desperate detractors.” He also urged the Itsekiri Leaders of Thought (ILOT) to take responsibility

Of the  existing Peace by cautioning   Barrister Ariyo and his cohorts to deviate from inflammatory statements which denotes defamation of character.

“It is imperative for the ILOT to condemn these baseless accusations and reaffirm their commitment to the collective progress of the Niger Delta.

The Peace Group also warned that the continued propagation of falsehoods against Tantita Security and Tompolo could lead to heightened tensions in the region if it is not curtailed and it is not healthy for the inhabitants and the growth of the Niger Delta region.

A stern Warning to Saboteurs

In a stern rebuke, Comrade Mike Tiemo vowed that the Peace Development Security and Humanitarian Rights Association would not sit idly by while detractors attempt to derail the progress made in the Niger Delta.

“We will not tolerate any attempt to sabotage the legitimate efforts of Tantita Security or smear the reputation of High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, a man who has devoted his life to the betterment of our region and our nation,” he said.

He further warned that those found complicit in spreading false narratives or engaging in activities that threaten the peace and security of the region

are not helping the region.

Reaffirming Support for Tompolo

The Peace Group reiterated its unwavering support for Tompolo and Tantita Security, urging all stakeholders to rally behind their efforts to sustain peace, security, and development in the Niger Delta.

“The Niger Delta needs unity, not divisive antics from mischief merchants. Tompolo has shown that with the right leadership and dedication, the region can rise above its challenges and become a beacon of hope for Nigeria. We must not allow detractors to reverse these gains,” Tiemo concluded.

As the controversy continues to unfold, the Peace Development Security and Humanitarian Rights Association’s statement adds to the growing chorus of voices defending Tompolo’s integrity and the pivotal role of Tantita Security in the Niger Delta’s transformation.

He therefore urged Barr Johnson Ariyo as a legal practitioner to fight and  ratify the  the controversial provision of the the PIA for the overall interest of the Niger Deltans.

He advised Ariyo to consult and join with dedicated stakeholders to fight for the betterment of the Niger Delta instead of unguided criticism.

PTI Defends Its Reputation Against Misleading Sahara Media Report By Wilson Macaulay Effurun, Delta State July 12 2025 The Management of the prestigious Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, has vehemently refuted a sensational and malicious report published by Sahara Reporters on July 10, 2025, which alleged that students of the foremost oil and gas institution study in “flooded classrooms and snake-infested hostels” despite a ₦39 billion budget. Describing the publication as “baseless, mischievous, and an orchestrated attempt to malign the integrity of the institution,” PTI Management said the report is not only factually inaccurate but also a deliberate attack on the hard-earned reputation and progress of the institution under its current leadership. In a strongly worded statement issued on Friday, the management declared: > “There are absolutely no flooded classrooms or snake-infested hostels within the Institute. These claims are complete fabrications devoid of any evidence or truth.” Management further challenged Sahara Reporters to produce any verifiable photographic or video proof to substantiate its claims. > “If such conditions exist as alleged, Sahara Reporters should have no difficulty presenting concrete evidence. Until then, their report remains a reckless misrepresentation aimed at misleading the public.” PTI clarified that all its lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, and hostels are structurally sound, properly ventilated, electrically powered, and routinely maintained. The Institute prides itself on maintaining a safe and conducive academic environment for learning, innovation, and professional development in the oil and gas sector. The management in clear terms described the publication as the work of “unscrupulous elements seeking to sow discord and cast aspersions on the steady infrastructural development PTI has recorded in recent years.” As a center of excellence in petroleum training and manpower development, PTI has, under its current administration, seen remarkable transformation in terms of physical infrastructure, digital modernization, and student welfare programs. The Institute continues to attract local and international recognition for its cutting-edge research and high-impact training curriculum. While assuring stakeholders, parents, and the general public of its unwavering commitment to the safety and welfare of its students, the management reiterated its call for responsible journalism and urged media practitioners to verify facts before rushing to publication. “We remain focused on our mandate and will not be distracted by smear campaigns designed to derail our progress.”
