Mr. Christian Efe Esharedoro, former President of the PTI Student Union Government and a member of the Hon. Barr Edafe Emakpor Political Family,

in a remarkable act of generosity, has graciously paid the final examination fees for seventeen indigent pupils of Alegbo Primary School, Effurun, in Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State. The gesture was aimed at enabling these pupils to sit for the Delta State Cognitive Placement Examination, which many of them could not afford.

Mr. Efe-Esharedoro, in a brief but impactful speech, explained that the donation was a way of empowering the students to write the examination and, in the long run, contribute positively to society. He emphasized that education is the foundation of societal progress and that no child should be denied access due to financial constraints.

On the morning of February 3rd, 2025, Mr. Efe-Esharedoro visited the Primary Six classroom of Alegbo Primary School, where he was warmly received by the students, unaware that he was there to change their lives. His arrival was a moment of hope for the seventeen pupils who had been unable to pay the enrolment fees, just hours before the enrollment closure time.

In his speech, Mr. Efe-Esharedoro the  donor reiterated that  the gesture was in line with the developmental initiatives championed by his political mentor, Hon. Edafe Emakpor, the member representing Uvwie Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly. He referenced Hon. Emakpor's earlier donation of ninety-eight school uniforms to the pupils of the school and stated that his contribution was his own way of supporting the less privileged and promoting education in Uvwie LGA.

He also advised the students to seize the opportunity and perform their best in the examination, as this could be a stepping stone to greater achievements in the future. His promise to continue supporting his community, particularly in the area of education.

The Head Teacher of Alegbo Primary School, Chief Mrs. Otevwerhi Patricia Kehinde, expressed her heartfelt thanks to Mr. Efe-Esharedoro and the entire Emakpor Political Family for their unwavering support for the grassroot and down trodden people. She prayed for blessings upon him, acknowledging the political family's consistent efforts in uplifting the community, particularly the students who are the future leaders of the nation.

In separate speeches, Mr. Eworitse Hillary Oruru, Mr. Aliu Moses, and Ms. Oghenevwede Anita Tejiri, all members of the donor's team, affirmed their commitment to supporting projects that will bring development to Uvwie LGA, regardless of the political affiliations of the beneficiaries.

The beneficiaries, overwhelmed with gratitude, expressed their joy, describing Mr. Efe-Esharedoro as a "God-sent" figure who had provided them with a lifeline at a time when they had almost given up hope of taking the examination. They vowed to make the most of the opportunity and perform admirably in the examination.

This noble act is a testament to Mr. Efe-Esharedoro's dedication to empowering the next generation through education, ensuring that every child, regardless of background, has a fair chance at success. His continued support for the people of Uvwie LGA is sure to inspire greater strides in community development and education.

PTI Defends Its Reputation Against Misleading Sahara Media Report By Wilson Macaulay Effurun, Delta State July 12 2025 The Management of the prestigious Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, has vehemently refuted a sensational and malicious report published by Sahara Reporters on July 10, 2025, which alleged that students of the foremost oil and gas institution study in “flooded classrooms and snake-infested hostels” despite a ₦39 billion budget. Describing the publication as “baseless, mischievous, and an orchestrated attempt to malign the integrity of the institution,” PTI Management said the report is not only factually inaccurate but also a deliberate attack on the hard-earned reputation and progress of the institution under its current leadership. In a strongly worded statement issued on Friday, the management declared: > “There are absolutely no flooded classrooms or snake-infested hostels within the Institute. These claims are complete fabrications devoid of any evidence or truth.” Management further challenged Sahara Reporters to produce any verifiable photographic or video proof to substantiate its claims. > “If such conditions exist as alleged, Sahara Reporters should have no difficulty presenting concrete evidence. Until then, their report remains a reckless misrepresentation aimed at misleading the public.” PTI clarified that all its lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, and hostels are structurally sound, properly ventilated, electrically powered, and routinely maintained. The Institute prides itself on maintaining a safe and conducive academic environment for learning, innovation, and professional development in the oil and gas sector. The management in clear terms described the publication as the work of “unscrupulous elements seeking to sow discord and cast aspersions on the steady infrastructural development PTI has recorded in recent years.” As a center of excellence in petroleum training and manpower development, PTI has, under its current administration, seen remarkable transformation in terms of physical infrastructure, digital modernization, and student welfare programs. The Institute continues to attract local and international recognition for its cutting-edge research and high-impact training curriculum. While assuring stakeholders, parents, and the general public of its unwavering commitment to the safety and welfare of its students, the management reiterated its call for responsible journalism and urged media practitioners to verify facts before rushing to publication. “We remain focused on our mandate and will not be distracted by smear campaigns designed to derail our progress.”
