Tompolo, Otuaro Are Men of Honor; Jude Gbaboyor , Associates Are Agents of Misinformation – General John Abugor

The Ijaw Nation has long been synonymous with integrity, leadership, and the relentless pursuit of progress. High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) and Chief Dennis Otuaro have exemplified these values through their unwavering commitment to security, development, and economic stability in the Niger Delta. However, recent attempts by Jude Gbaboyor and his associates to undermine their reputations through falsehoods, mischief, and calculated acts of sabotage must not go unchallenged.

Speaking on the matter, General John Abugor, a respected ex-militant leader and key figure in the Niger Delta Amnesty Programme,  from Jesse town in Ethiope West LGA strongly condemned  the smear campaign orchestrated by  Jude Gbaboyor and his associates. He described their actions as an affront to the Ijaw Nation, a betrayal of Niger Delta progress, and a desperate attempt to mislead the public for selfish interests.

A Campaign of Falsehood Against TANTITA Security and PAP

General Abugor highlighted that Jude Gbaboyor has consistently used his Facebook platform to spread baseless accusations and outright lies against TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Ltd. and the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), led by Chief Dennis Otuaro.

He reaffirmed that TANTITA Security Services, under the leadership of High Chief Dr. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), has played a pivotal role in securing Nigeria’s oil infrastructure, combating crude oil theft, and stabilizing the nation’s economy. Any attack on this institution, he stated, amounts to economic sabotage.

“Since TANTITA took over pipeline security, Nigeria’s oil production has significantly improved. A man like Tompolo, who has dedicated himself to protecting our national assets, deserves commendation, not slander,” General Abugor asserted.

He further called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to maintain his collaboration with Tompolo, acknowledging his competence and proven track record in safeguarding the country’s vital resources.

Addressing the baseless claims that Tompolo amassed wealth through ritualistic means, General Abugor dismissed such narratives as mere fabrications, insisting that Tompolo’s financial success stems from legitimate business ventures well known to the general public.

Similarly, he praised the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) under Chief Dennis Otuaro’s leadership for its continuous efforts in empowering ex-agitators, fostering peace, and providing opportunities for Niger Delta youths. He condemned Gbaboyor’s attempts to discredit the initiative as a deliberate effort to disrupt the progress of the Niger Delta.

General Abugor called on all true sons and daughters of the Niger Delta to reject and resist Gbaboyor’s divisive propaganda. He also commended General Preye Slabor, Chairman of PAP Phase 3, for his exemplary leadership.

He urged Niger Delta youths and stakeholders to take the following actions:

Report and flag Jude Gbaboyor’s misleading social media posts to prevent the spread of falsehoods.

Counter misinformation by engaging with facts in the comment sections of his posts.

Defend the legacies of Tompolo, Otuaro, and other respected Niger Delta leaders who have dedicated their lives to the security and advancement of the region.

Furthermore, General Abugor challenged Gbaboyor to present any meaningful contribution he has made towards the development of the Niger Delta before attempting to criticize those actively working for its progress.

No Room for Saboteurs

“The Niger Delta youth will not tolerate saboteurs in our midst. This is why I make this statement without mincing words: no amount of propaganda will undermine the commendable efforts of Tompolo and Dennis Otuaro in advancing the progress and development of our country,” General Abugor declared.

He reiterated that the Niger Delta stands at a critical crossroads, where unity, security, and economic progress must be safeguarded at all costs. He urged all well-meaning individuals to expose and resist those who seek to derail these efforts, ensuring that the legacies of Tompolo and Dennis Otuaro remain intact—both as Ijaw leaders and as national figures contributing to Nigeria’s overall stability.

PTI Defends Its Reputation Against Misleading Sahara Media Report By Wilson Macaulay Effurun, Delta State July 12 2025 The Management of the prestigious Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, has vehemently refuted a sensational and malicious report published by Sahara Reporters on July 10, 2025, which alleged that students of the foremost oil and gas institution study in “flooded classrooms and snake-infested hostels” despite a ₦39 billion budget. Describing the publication as “baseless, mischievous, and an orchestrated attempt to malign the integrity of the institution,” PTI Management said the report is not only factually inaccurate but also a deliberate attack on the hard-earned reputation and progress of the institution under its current leadership. In a strongly worded statement issued on Friday, the management declared: > “There are absolutely no flooded classrooms or snake-infested hostels within the Institute. These claims are complete fabrications devoid of any evidence or truth.” Management further challenged Sahara Reporters to produce any verifiable photographic or video proof to substantiate its claims. > “If such conditions exist as alleged, Sahara Reporters should have no difficulty presenting concrete evidence. Until then, their report remains a reckless misrepresentation aimed at misleading the public.” PTI clarified that all its lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, and hostels are structurally sound, properly ventilated, electrically powered, and routinely maintained. The Institute prides itself on maintaining a safe and conducive academic environment for learning, innovation, and professional development in the oil and gas sector. The management in clear terms described the publication as the work of “unscrupulous elements seeking to sow discord and cast aspersions on the steady infrastructural development PTI has recorded in recent years.” As a center of excellence in petroleum training and manpower development, PTI has, under its current administration, seen remarkable transformation in terms of physical infrastructure, digital modernization, and student welfare programs. The Institute continues to attract local and international recognition for its cutting-edge research and high-impact training curriculum. While assuring stakeholders, parents, and the general public of its unwavering commitment to the safety and welfare of its students, the management reiterated its call for responsible journalism and urged media practitioners to verify facts before rushing to publication. “We remain focused on our mandate and will not be distracted by smear campaigns designed to derail our progress.”
