Okowa proud of Oborewvori's performance, leadership - Oghenesivbe ...Says PDP Delta 'll reclaim all National Assembly seats in 2027

Director General, Delta State Bureau for Communications and Orientation, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has said that the recent endorsement of governor Sheriff Oborevwori for re-election in 2027 by immediate past governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, was timely, heartwarming and commendable.

The Bureau Chief stated during an interactive  radio program monitored in Asaba on Saturday, that the endorsement clearly revealed that Senator Okowa who governed the state from 2015 to May 29, 2023, is visibly proud of governor Oborevwori's enviable performance in terms of purposeful leadership, socioeconomic and infrastructure development.

It will be recalled that Senator Okowa while receiving thousands of defectors from the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta North Senatorial District to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, stated that the state has been witnessing unprecedented socioeconomic and infrastructural development under governor Oborevwori, which had significantly upscaled the living standard of the people, as well as overall development of the state.

Dr Oghenesivbe described Senator Okowa as a selfless leader who governed the state without blemish, embarked on legacy projects, such as the gigantic ultra modern State Secretariat on Mariam Babaginda Way, Stephen Keshi International Stadium, established three state Universities, built Technical Colleges, among others.

He assured that the robust relationship between the two inseparable leaders, namely; Governor Oborevwori and Senator Okowa shall continued to unite PDP, and inspire Deltans to re-electing governor Oborevwori in a landslide victory in 2027, irrespective of political affiliation, and that PDP shall reclaim all National Assembly seats in the forthcoming general elections.

"The recent endorsement of governor Oborevwori for re-election in 2027 by our amiable immediate past governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa is commendable, timely and heartwarming.

"The endorsement is a clear indication that Senator Okowa is proud of the monumental achievements of governor Oborevwori in the past 22 months and counting.

"The two leaders shall continue to work hand-in-hand in conjunction with stakeholders for the benefit of all Deltans and the state. The patriotic bond between governor Oborevwori and Senator Okowa cannot be overemphasized.

"Governor Oborevwori is working very hard to advance Delta State in all sectors of the state economy, and to upgrade her economic status from the 4th largest economy to number one position in Nigeria, before May 29, 2031.

"I urge all Deltans across political divide to join hands with the governor to take Delta to enviable heights via the ongoing implementation of the MORE agenda," Oghenesivbe said.

PTI Defends Its Reputation Against Misleading Sahara Media Report By Wilson Macaulay Effurun, Delta State July 12 2025 The Management of the prestigious Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, has vehemently refuted a sensational and malicious report published by Sahara Reporters on July 10, 2025, which alleged that students of the foremost oil and gas institution study in “flooded classrooms and snake-infested hostels” despite a ₦39 billion budget. Describing the publication as “baseless, mischievous, and an orchestrated attempt to malign the integrity of the institution,” PTI Management said the report is not only factually inaccurate but also a deliberate attack on the hard-earned reputation and progress of the institution under its current leadership. In a strongly worded statement issued on Friday, the management declared: > “There are absolutely no flooded classrooms or snake-infested hostels within the Institute. These claims are complete fabrications devoid of any evidence or truth.” Management further challenged Sahara Reporters to produce any verifiable photographic or video proof to substantiate its claims. > “If such conditions exist as alleged, Sahara Reporters should have no difficulty presenting concrete evidence. Until then, their report remains a reckless misrepresentation aimed at misleading the public.” PTI clarified that all its lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, and hostels are structurally sound, properly ventilated, electrically powered, and routinely maintained. The Institute prides itself on maintaining a safe and conducive academic environment for learning, innovation, and professional development in the oil and gas sector. The management in clear terms described the publication as the work of “unscrupulous elements seeking to sow discord and cast aspersions on the steady infrastructural development PTI has recorded in recent years.” As a center of excellence in petroleum training and manpower development, PTI has, under its current administration, seen remarkable transformation in terms of physical infrastructure, digital modernization, and student welfare programs. The Institute continues to attract local and international recognition for its cutting-edge research and high-impact training curriculum. While assuring stakeholders, parents, and the general public of its unwavering commitment to the safety and welfare of its students, the management reiterated its call for responsible journalism and urged media practitioners to verify facts before rushing to publication. “We remain focused on our mandate and will not be distracted by smear campaigns designed to derail our progress.”
