Director General of Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe has said that the state of the state address presented to the State House of Assembly on Wednesday by governor Sheriff Oborevwori, underscores the importance of openness, transparency and accountability in governance under constitutional democracy.

He called on politicians and people in positions of authority to emulate the leadership style of governor Oborevwori by being transparent and accountable to the people at all times, pointing out that for democracy to thrive, all elected representatives from top to bottom must of a necessity be accountable to those who gave them the mandate to lead or to govern.

The Bureau Chief commended governor Oborevwori over his good governance strides which earned him numerous Awards including; Best Governor of the Year, Best Governor in Infrastructure Development, and Best Governor in Good Governance, bestowed on him by ThisDay Arise Media Group, Telegraph Newspapers Editorial Board and Vanguard Newspapers Management and Editorial Board, respectively.

Dr Oghenesivbe told newsmen on Wednesday in Asaba that governor Oborevwori's scorecard within two years as unveiled during his official report to the State House of Assembly captured all sectors of the state economy, adding that the catalogue of mega projects to be commissioned in commemoration of his second year anniversary in office has been applauded by all well.meaning Deltans, home and in Diaspora. 

He commended the Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor and honourable members of the hallowed chambers for their flawless overnight functions, and for the several Bills signed into law by the governor, especially the State State Electricity Power Sector Law which laid a solid legal foundation for investments in that critical sector.

He noted that though the three arms of government are separated in watertight compartments, not any one of them can function effectively without the cooperation of the other two, and that in Delta State, the executive , legislature and the judiciary arms of government have  been working and would continue to work harmoniously together for the attainment of good governance, law and order, describing Speaker Guwor as a team player and a pragmatic leader who is committed to the development of Delta State.

Dr Oghenesivbe said Delta State has become a major destination for local and international investors because of the numerous business opportunities created by governor Oborevwori through major economic reforms and socioeconomic remodelling which has tremendously enhanced the ease of doing business in the state.

The Bureau Chief disclosed that the state government offers special fiscal incentives to investors, such as tax holidays, tax reduction, and business ecosystem that guarantees returns on investment.

He assured that the next two years of the governor's first tenure would open more doors of unlimited investment opportunities for public-private partnership, inflow of Direct Foreign investments, which would automatically upscale infrastructural development, economic growth and more prosperity for all Deltans, under the Renewed Hope for More Agenda of President Bola Tinubu and governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
