Okpe-Kokori Community throws weight behind Tinubu, Oborevwori reelection ...Hails Oghenesivbe for attracting development, selfless service

  





On Friday, 16th May 2025, the entire Okpe Community in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, danced through major streets of Kokori to the private residence of the Director General, Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, in appreciation of governor Sheriff Oborevwori over the completion of Okpe Street construction project.


The visibly happy and excited elders, women and youths from the entire 6 polling units of Okpe Community with over 4,000 registered voters vowed to campaign massively in Ethiope East LGA in the forthcoming general elections, and to vote enmass for the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, come 2027.


Receiving the bubbling mammoth crowd at his Kokori private residence, the Director General of Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, thanked them for the visit, and for appreciating governor Oborevwori for releasing funds for the timely completion of Okpe Street project, as well as ensuring that the road turned out to be one of the best roads in Agbon Kingdom.


He urged all eligible voters in Delta State, to throw their political weights behind the reelection of President Bola Tinubu and governor Sheriff Oborevwori in 2027, noting that these two great leaders and patriotic Nigerians are good examples of selfless leadership and unwavering commitment to nation building.


Dr Oghenesivbe disclosed that he had to approach the immediate past governor of the state, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa to construct Okpe and Agbonmiyeri Streets, and that the two roads were awarded in 2022.


He said upon assumption of office in 2023, governor Oborevwori immediately released additional funds for the completion of the roads, while thanking Senator Okowa for prioritising the projects.


The Director General of Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau further disclosed that governor Oborevwori mandated the Ministry of Works (Rural) under the headship of the Honourable Commissioner, Mr Charles Aniagwu, to ensure that no stone was left unturned in terms of quality materials and standard delivery of the project.


"I am very happy today, being my birth anniversary, that you deemed it necessary to appreciate our working governor, my leader and Boss, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, for a job well done.


"I accept this "Thank You" visit as a special birthday gift. I joyfully welcome you on behalf of His Excellency, the governor. 


"The beautiful songs you composed to praise governor Oborevwori threw me off balance, and I had to dance all the way. You all danced through the major streets of Kokori to get to my house. This is awesome.


"I will convey your appreciation to our leader and governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, and to also present your gift to him; a giant 4x6 six glassed photo.Thank you and God bless all of you, my fathers, elders, mothers, brothers and sisters.

Earlier, the spokesperson of Erhumwun R'Okpe Community in Kokori, and Councillor representing the good people of Ward 12, Hon S Oghoghorie Vwede said the completion of the Okpe Street construction project was a major breakthrough for the people of the community.

He said Okpe Street has been abandoned for centuries until Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe came on board and the Executive Assistant to the immediate part governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, adding that he worked tirelessly to ensure that the road was awarded by the previous administration, and even worked harder to endure it's successful completion by governor Oborevwori administration.

Hon Oghoghorie described Oghenesivbe as a true son of Agbon Kingdom and the Ebi family of Okpe Street in Kokori, assuring that the entire 6 polling units within the community with over 4,000 registered voters would do the needful by voting enmass for President Bola Tinubu and governor Sheriff Oborevwori in the forthcoming general elections in 2027.

The highlight of the visit was the presentation of a 4x6 giant size glassed photo of governor Sheriff Oborevwori and was received on behalf of the governor by the host, and Director General of Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe Esq.
