Oborevwori 'll continue springing pleasant surprises in Delta- Oghenesivbe ...Says his recognition as best governor in South-South heartwarming, well deserved

Director General of Delta State Bureau for  Communications, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has said that the next two years of the first tenure of governor Sheriff Oborevwori in Delta, will record unprecedented pleasant surprises in terms of more infrastructure development and socioeconomic transformation that would snowball into his mega second tenure.

Dr Oghenesivbe, assured that the burning desire on the inside of governor Oborevwori to deliver the best in infrastructure development and social investments cannot be extinguished by any form of distraction.

The Bureau Chief noted that Deltans are already super excited about the governor's remarkable achievements, pointing out that the massive development that had taken place in the past two years shall be trippled within the next two years leading to the 2027 general elections.

He said governor Oborevwori vision is to be on top of the game in all aspects to advance Delta beyond 2027, adding that the governor remains a local content leader with an incredible street credibility, which is why he's down to earth,  practical, courageous and not pretentious in his actions and inactions.

Dr Oghenesivbe pointed out that the multi billion Naira structural remodelling, redesigning and reconstruction of the Warri Township Stadium into a world class sports facility, as well as the Mega flyover at Agbor in Ika South, and Otowodo in Ughelli North Local Government Areas, and other infrastructure projects awarded recently at a cost of N230 billion, should be regarded as a tip of the iceberg, compared to what governor Oborevwori would continue to do across the three Senatorial districts before and after the 2027 governorship elections.

The State Bureau of Communications Director General further asserted that the governor is in firm control of the State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the undisputed state party leader, while appealing to party faithfuls across the state to embrace themselves without the tagging of any group or persons as "old and new" APC members.

Dr Oghenesivbe, congratulated governor Oborevwori over his recent recognition as the Best Governor in the South-South region of Nigeria, a declaration by the organisers of the National Digital Summit which took place recently at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

"Of a truth, governor Oborevwori has become a superstar in National Leadership Hall of Fame through his dint of hard work, prudent management of state resources, fiscal discipline, and commitment to nation building.

"Majority of his former detractors have applauded him, they just can't believe that the Sheriff Oborevwori they thought would perform below expectations has suddenly become a transformational leader, with enviable burning desire to advance Delta, tackling obstacles with uncommon humility, focus and resilient, and guided by equity, fairness and good conscience," he added

PTI Defends Its Reputation Against Misleading Sahara Media Report By Wilson Macaulay Effurun, Delta State July 12 2025 The Management of the prestigious Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, has vehemently refuted a sensational and malicious report published by Sahara Reporters on July 10, 2025, which alleged that students of the foremost oil and gas institution study in “flooded classrooms and snake-infested hostels” despite a ₦39 billion budget. Describing the publication as “baseless, mischievous, and an orchestrated attempt to malign the integrity of the institution,” PTI Management said the report is not only factually inaccurate but also a deliberate attack on the hard-earned reputation and progress of the institution under its current leadership. In a strongly worded statement issued on Friday, the management declared: > “There are absolutely no flooded classrooms or snake-infested hostels within the Institute. These claims are complete fabrications devoid of any evidence or truth.” Management further challenged Sahara Reporters to produce any verifiable photographic or video proof to substantiate its claims. > “If such conditions exist as alleged, Sahara Reporters should have no difficulty presenting concrete evidence. Until then, their report remains a reckless misrepresentation aimed at misleading the public.” PTI clarified that all its lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, and hostels are structurally sound, properly ventilated, electrically powered, and routinely maintained. The Institute prides itself on maintaining a safe and conducive academic environment for learning, innovation, and professional development in the oil and gas sector. The management in clear terms described the publication as the work of “unscrupulous elements seeking to sow discord and cast aspersions on the steady infrastructural development PTI has recorded in recent years.” As a center of excellence in petroleum training and manpower development, PTI has, under its current administration, seen remarkable transformation in terms of physical infrastructure, digital modernization, and student welfare programs. The Institute continues to attract local and international recognition for its cutting-edge research and high-impact training curriculum. While assuring stakeholders, parents, and the general public of its unwavering commitment to the safety and welfare of its students, the management reiterated its call for responsible journalism and urged media practitioners to verify facts before rushing to publication. “We remain focused on our mandate and will not be distracted by smear campaigns designed to derail our progress.”
