General Ogidigba, Amnesty Phase 3 Leaders Applaud Rivers Political Stability, Credit Tompolo for Brokering Fubara-Wike Peace Deal

General Godstime Ogidigba, the newly elected  National Chairman and the  leadership of the Phase 3 Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) has extended their  heartfelt congratulations to the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi  Fubara, and the 23  Members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, describing their democratic victory and cooperation as a beacon of stability in the Niger Delta.


In a statement signed by the newly elected National Chairman of PAP Phase 3, Gen. Godstime Ogidigba, the group also lauded the extraordinary peacebuilding role played by High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpomupolo, popularly known as Tompolo.


According to the statement, Tompolo’s recent 52nd birthday anniversary transcended the usual celebrations, transforming into a historic platform that facilitated the reconciliation between Governor Fubara and his political leader, the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Nyesom Wike.


Gen. Ogidigba emphasized that the reconciliation, brokered through dialogue and the maturity of key stakeholders, has brought a fresh wave of optimism to the fragile political climate of Rivers State. He described the development as “a golden example of how dialogue and statesmanship can prevail over conflict and division.”


> “We appreciate Tompolo for opening his heart and home to peace initiatives that have stabilized not only Rivers State but also strengthened the unity of the Niger Delta and Nigeria at large. His wisdom in turning his birthday into an opportunity for reconciliation demonstrates rare leadership,” the statement read.


The Phase 3  National Chairman also commended Minister Nyesom Wike for playing the role of a true elder statesman by keeping his doors open to meaningful dialogue. According to him, Wike’s willingness to embrace reconciliation underscored his enduring influence as a political leader who places the peace and development of Rivers State above personal differences.


Gen. Ogidigba stressed that sustaining the fragile peace in Rivers State is vital for the overall progress of the Niger Delta, especially in view of the region’s critical role in Nigeria’s economic stability through oil and gas production.


He further assured that the Phase 3 Amnesty leaders will remain committed to supporting every peace-building effort that will consolidate unity, enhance good governance, and foster development across the Niger Delta.

General Oloye the PAP Chief of Staff from Delta State urged all and sundry to cooperate with the new leadership of PAP which he described as dawn of a new era.

General Oloye, the Delta State Governor Aide passed a vote of confidence on General Godstime Ogidigba for starting very well by recognizing relevant leaders in the Niger region who are ambassadors of Peace and advocacy for progress.

The statement concluded by calling on other stakeholders in the region to emulate Tompolo’s example of constructive engagement, stressing that peace remains the most powerful weapon for development and the true legacy to bequeath to future generations

The Institute continues to attract local and international recognition for its cutting-edge research and high-impact training curriculum.
