2027 Politics: Ethiope Federal Constituency adopts Tinubu, Oborevwori ...Enlarged meeting holds November 29 at DS Akpowo's Country Home Eku

A foremost political pressure group in Delta State, the Ethiope Federal Constituency Political Forum on Friday adopted President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, as sole presidential and governorship candidates for the 2027 general elections.

The adoption took place at the Forum's enlarged stakeholders meeting held at the country home of Ethiope East APC leader, Chief Bernard Edewor, following governor Oborevwori led mass transition of the entire PDP structure in Delta State to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The motion, moved by DESOPADEC Chairman, Chief John Nani and seconded by Dr Ben Edoja, was put to a voice vote by a former federal lawmaker, Rt Hon Halims Agoda and carried without dissent, signaling a new era of progressive politics in Ethiope Federal Constituency.

National Chairman of the Forum, Senator Ighoyota Amori underscored the imperative of unity and a shared political purpose, noting that the Forum’s overarching goal is to secure victories for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and all APC candidates in the Ethiope Federal Constituency, and across the state during the forthcoming general elections.

He further instructed leaders from Ethiope East and Ethiope West Local government areas to nominate candidates for the expanded national executive positions, aligning with the newly broadened APC family in Delta State.

Senator Amori announced a general meeting of the Forum slated for 29th November at the country home of Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Arthur Akpowowo, while urging leaders and stakeholders in the Federal Constituency to mobilize members for the event.

In the same vein, the National Secretary of the Forum, Chief Sunday Onoriode, who also serves as State Director of Protocols in the Delta State Government, echoed the call for cohesion, emphasizing that the Forum’s existence hinges on delivering electoral success for the President, Governor, and the party in 2027.

He urged stakeholders to ensure that their various ward and units are properly mobilized politically for the task ahead as the nation navigates into another electioneering season begining from 2026, noting that governor Oborevwori enviable performance attests to his pragmatic and visionary leadership.

Chief Onoriode assured that the Oborevwori administration would spring more pleasant surprises in mega infrastructure and socioeconomic development across the three senatorial districts, urging party faithfuls and Ethiope Federal Constituency stakeholders and leaders to continue to support the governor's bold initiatives to further advance Delta State.

Speaking to newsmen on the sidelines of the Forum's enlarged stakeholders meeting, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, National Publicity Secretary of Ethiope Federal Constituency Political Forum, described the gathering as a milestone, noting that the Forum is now “bigger, stronger, and united” after Governor Oborevwori led the entire PDP structure in Delta to join APC.

He added that the November 29 meeting scheduled to hold in Eku, East of the federal Constituency, will mark the start of a robust political drive aimed at sweeping all 2027 elections in the constituency, assuring that the Forum under the leadership of Senator Amori is doing the needful to ensure that the federal Constituency garners the highest number of votes for the APC in the state, come 2027.

Dr Oghenesivbe, who serves as the Director General of Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, praised the monumental achievements of President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori, stating that both leaders are “high premium political and leadership products” requiring minimal effort to campaign for re‑election, and expressed confidence in their 2027 triumph.

"Today, Ethiope Federal Constituency adopted President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as the Forum's presidential and governorship candidates for 2027. The adoption is irrevocable, and non-negotiable.

"Our national leader, Senator Amori is fully incharge as the national Chairman, and he's working closely with all stakeholders and leaders in the federal Constituency to ensure that we score the highest number of votes for the APC and her candidates in Delta State, come 2027.

"The general meeting of the Forum is scheduled to hold at the palatial residence of the Deputy Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Arthur Akpowowo. It's a free for all political gathering that would preceed the Delta Central Senatorial District's mega meeting in December.

"Ethiope Federal Constituency is on the Eagle's wings, flying to greater heights, and the political beats goes on.

"Be rest assured that APC will sweep the polls for President Bola Tinubu, governor Sheriff Oborevwori and all candidates of APC," Oghenesivbe said.

PTI Defends Its Reputation Against Misleading Sahara Media Report By Wilson Macaulay Effurun, Delta State July 12 2025 The Management of the prestigious Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, has vehemently refuted a sensational and malicious report published by Sahara Reporters on July 10, 2025, which alleged that students of the foremost oil and gas institution study in “flooded classrooms and snake-infested hostels” despite a ₦39 billion budget. Describing the publication as “baseless, mischievous, and an orchestrated attempt to malign the integrity of the institution,” PTI Management said the report is not only factually inaccurate but also a deliberate attack on the hard-earned reputation and progress of the institution under its current leadership. In a strongly worded statement issued on Friday, the management declared: > “There are absolutely no flooded classrooms or snake-infested hostels within the Institute. These claims are complete fabrications devoid of any evidence or truth.” Management further challenged Sahara Reporters to produce any verifiable photographic or video proof to substantiate its claims. > “If such conditions exist as alleged, Sahara Reporters should have no difficulty presenting concrete evidence. Until then, their report remains a reckless misrepresentation aimed at misleading the public.” PTI clarified that all its lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, and hostels are structurally sound, properly ventilated, electrically powered, and routinely maintained. The Institute prides itself on maintaining a safe and conducive academic environment for learning, innovation, and professional development in the oil and gas sector. The management in clear terms described the publication as the work of “unscrupulous elements seeking to sow discord and cast aspersions on the steady infrastructural development PTI has recorded in recent years.” As a center of excellence in petroleum training and manpower development, PTI has, under its current administration, seen remarkable transformation in terms of physical infrastructure, digital modernization, and student welfare programs. The Institute continues to attract local and international recognition for its cutting-edge research and high-impact training curriculum. While assuring stakeholders, parents, and the general public of its unwavering commitment to the safety and welfare of its students, the management reiterated its call for responsible journalism and urged media practitioners to verify facts before rushing to publication. “We remain focused on our mandate and will not be distracted by smear campaigns designed to derail our progress.”
