The Ethiope Federal Constituency Forum officially inaugurated its new executive leadership for Ethiope East and West Local Government Areas on Saturday, with a clear directive to mobilize members for the 2027 general elections and ensure party tickets go only to leaders who respect party hierarchy.

National Chairman of the APC Ethiope Federal Constituency, Senator (Chief) Ighoyota Amori, administered the oath of office to Chief Midwest Iboyitete as Ethiope East Chairman and Hon Bright Igbi as Ethiope West Chairman, alongside other executive members of the Forum.

Speaking at the ceremony held at the country home of Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Olorogun (Barr) Arthur Akpowowo in Eku, Senator Amori charged the new leaders to prioritize mass mobilization in support of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, whom the constituency has adopted as its sole 2027 candidates.

Earlier, National Secretary and Delta State Director of Protocols, Chief Sunday Onoriode, assured that party tickets will be reserved for members who demonstrate loyalty and respect to party leadership.

Onoriode highlighted the quality representation of former House of Representatives members; Rt Hon Halims Agoda, Rt Hon Sunny Akpodiogaga Emeyese, Rt Hon Loveth Idisi, and Rt Hon Benjamin Igbakpa, and affirmed that the next House member will emerge from the Ethiope Federal Constituency Forum.

Chief Host and Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Arthur Akpowowo expressed delight in hosting the event, noting the massive turnout as proof of the forum’s objectives being realized. He urged the new executives to effectively mobilize voters and members for the ongoing registration exercises.

Former member of the House of Representatives, Hon Halims Agoda called for unity, stating that the forum has grown stronger, positioning the APC for a decisive victory in 2027.

Agoda praised Governor Oborevwori for fostering an inclusive environment and expressed confidence in the party’s success.

Deputy National Chairman Chief Bernard Edewor thanked the host for his hospitality, affirming the forum’s readiness to deliver electoral victories. He assured that with the good governance of Mr President and the state governor, victory will be a walkover in 2027.

National Publicity Secretary Dr (Barr) Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe noted that the inauguration marks a new era of transformative leadership under Senator Amori and Chief Onoriode. He announced a mega meeting for Delta Central Senatorial District slated for Sunday, December 7, at PTI Conference Centre, Effurun, to consolidate APC’s political strength.

Oghenesivbe added that Forum ward and unit executives will soon be inaugurated to complete the party structure, urging leaders and stakeholders at LGA and Federal Constituency levels to ensure adequate participation and mobilization for the event.

The inauguration of the two LGAs executives underscored the Forum's strategic focus on unity, mobilization, and leadership alignment ahead of the 2027 elections under the APC.

PTI Defends Its Reputation Against Misleading Sahara Media Report By Wilson Macaulay Effurun, Delta State July 12 2025 The Management of the prestigious Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, has vehemently refuted a sensational and malicious report published by Sahara Reporters on July 10, 2025, which alleged that students of the foremost oil and gas institution study in “flooded classrooms and snake-infested hostels” despite a ₦39 billion budget. Describing the publication as “baseless, mischievous, and an orchestrated attempt to malign the integrity of the institution,” PTI Management said the report is not only factually inaccurate but also a deliberate attack on the hard-earned reputation and progress of the institution under its current leadership. In a strongly worded statement issued on Friday, the management declared: > “There are absolutely no flooded classrooms or snake-infested hostels within the Institute. These claims are complete fabrications devoid of any evidence or truth.” Management further challenged Sahara Reporters to produce any verifiable photographic or video proof to substantiate its claims. > “If such conditions exist as alleged, Sahara Reporters should have no difficulty presenting concrete evidence. Until then, their report remains a reckless misrepresentation aimed at misleading the public.” PTI clarified that all its lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, and hostels are structurally sound, properly ventilated, electrically powered, and routinely maintained. The Institute prides itself on maintaining a safe and conducive academic environment for learning, innovation, and professional development in the oil and gas sector. The management in clear terms described the publication as the work of “unscrupulous elements seeking to sow discord and cast aspersions on the steady infrastructural development PTI has recorded in recent years.” As a center of excellence in petroleum training and manpower development, PTI has, under its current administration, seen remarkable transformation in terms of physical infrastructure, digital modernization, and student welfare programs. The Institute continues to attract local and international recognition for its cutting-edge research and high-impact training curriculum. While assuring stakeholders, parents, and the general public of its unwavering commitment to the safety and welfare of its students, the management reiterated its call for responsible journalism and urged media practitioners to verify facts before rushing to publication. “We remain focused on our mandate and will not be distracted by smear campaigns designed to derail our progress.”
