The Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Security Matters, Hon. Clement Ofovwi, popularly known as General Oloye, has commended Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for what he described as bold, visionary and people-centered leadership demonstrated through the execution of the Otovwodo Flyover, the Udu Harbour Market, and the ongoing reconstruction of the Udu ECN Road.

General Oloye, while addressing journalists in Asaba on Tuesday, said the projects represent a defining chapter in Delta State’s infrastructure renaissance and a clear reflection of Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to the MORE Agenda of Meaningful Development, Opportunities for all, Realistic Reforms and Enhanced Peace and Security.

According to him, the three projects, strategically located within Delta Central and its commercial corridor, will  not only reshape the physical landscape of the state but also strengthen security, economic stability and social cohesion.

“Governor Oborevwori has once again proven that leadership is about impact. These projects will remain permanent testimonies of his administration’s resolve to uplift our people and reposition Delta State for sustainable growth,” General Oloye declared.

Otovwodo Flyover: Unlocking Economic Mobility

General Oloye described the Otovwodo Flyover as one of the most consequential transport interventions in Delta State in recent decades. He noted that the flyover, located along the heavily congested Warri–Ughelli axis, is already transforming vehicular movement, eliminating persistent traffic gridlock and drastically reducing travel time for commuters, traders and investors.

He stressed that improved traffic flow enhances security surveillance, emergency response time and commercial productivity across Warri, Udu, Ughelli and adjoining communities.

“When roads work, security improves. The Otovwodo Flyover is not just concrete and steel; it is economic liberation for thousands of Deltans,” he said.

Udu Harbour Market: A New Commercial Powerhouse

The security adviser further applauded the Governor for the development of the Udu Harbour Market, describing it as a major catalyst for employment generation, trade expansion and grassroots wealth creation.

He noted that the modern market complex will provide organized trading spaces, attract regional commerce and significantly boost internally generated revenue for Delta State while empowering women, youths and small-scale entrepreneurs.

“Udu Harbour Market is a clear demonstration of the Governor’s inclusive economic vision. It gives dignity to traders and transforms Udu into a commercial destination of choice,” General Oloye stated.

Udu ECN Road: Restoring Urban Life

On the Udu ECN Road reconstruction, General Oloye said the project is restoring long-lost connectivity and opening up residential and commercial neighborhoods that were previously cut off by years of infrastructural decay.

He explained that improved road networks directly enhance crime prevention, access to security patrols and emergency services, while boosting property values and business confidence.

“This road project will change  the story of Udu. People can now move freely, businesses are returning and community life will be  revived when completed ,” he added.

Infrastructure as a Pillar of Security and Stability

General Oloye emphasized that Governor Oborevwori’s infrastructure drive has become one of the strongest tools for strengthening peace and security across Delta State.

According to him, improved infrastructure reduces social tension, creates jobs for youths, discourages crime and reinforces public trust in governance.

“Security is not only about enforcement; it is about opportunity, access and hope. Governor Oborevwori understands this deeply,” he said.

A Call for Continued Public Support

The Special Assistant urged Deltans to continue supporting the Governor’s development initiatives, noting that the current administration has laid a strong foundation for long-term prosperity and stability.

“This is a Governor who listens, acts and delivers. The future of Delta State is being built today,” General Oloye concluded.
