Recent national recognition accorded to Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has continued to generate positive reactions across political and public circles, with the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, Hon. Comrade Francis Obule, JP, describing the development as a clear indication of growing public support for the governor’s leadership ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Obule stated that the honours conferred on the governor by prominent media organisations, including The Telegraph and Leadership Newspaper, reflect national acknowledgement of the administration’s developmental achievements and governance reforms in Delta State.

Speaking to journalists in Warri, the governor’s aide noted that the recognition underscores the impact of the administration’s policies, programmes, and projects under the MORE Agenda, which he said has continued to transform infrastructure, enhance economic growth, and improve the welfare of citizens across the state.

According to Obule, such recognition from reputable national media platforms goes beyond ceremonial honour, describing it as a credible validation of the governor’s performance and commitment to inclusive governance.

“These recognitions are clear indicators that the governor’s efforts are being noticed and appreciated nationally,” Obule said. “They demonstrate that the administration’s developmental strides are not only visible within the state but also acknowledged by independent observers across the country.”

He highlighted key achievements of the administration to include massive road construction and rehabilitation, urban renewal initiatives, youth empowerment programmes, improved security coordination, and strategic support for small and medium-scale enterprises aimed at boosting economic productivity.

The SSA Political Matters further explained that the governor’s leadership style, characterised by consultation, inclusiveness, and people-oriented policies, has strengthened public trust and confidence in the administration.

“In a democratic system, public perception and performance go hand in hand,” he noted. “When credible institutions recognise good governance, it strengthens citizens’ confidence and reinforces support for continuity of effective leadership.”

Obule also pointed out that the governor’s commitment to equitable distribution of projects across the three senatorial districts has fostered unity, stability, and balanced development within the state, adding that this approach has earned the administration widespread acceptance among traditional rulers, political stakeholders, youth groups, and women organisations.

Political observers in the South-South region have equally described the recognition as a reflection of a leadership focused on long-term development planning and sustainable growth, noting that the administration has maintained relative political stability while accelerating socio-economic development.
