First Lady Visit to Warri Kingdom Will Accelerate Delta Economic ,Political Progress, Says Mr Femi Odonmeta, Publisher Warri Voice

 The Publisher of Warri Voice Newspaper, Mr. Femi Odonmeta, has stated that the Thursday February 26th visit of Nigeria’s First Lady,  Her Excellency,Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to the Warri Kingdom will serve as a catalyst for unprecedented economic and political advancement in Delta State and the wider Niger Delta region.

Speaking from the sidelines of the grand civic reception hosted by His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri, Mr. Odonmeta described the historic visit as “a defining moment in the evolving relationship between traditional institutions, Delta State, and the Federal Government.” He noted that beyond the ceremonial splendour, the visit carried significant socio-economic implications.

According to the veteran journalist and respected media entrepreneur, the presence of the First Lady in Warri kingdom,her ancestral homeland signals renewed federal attention toward Warri Kingdom. “This visit is not merely symbolic; it is strategic. It opens doors for federal partnerships, infrastructural investments, youth empowerment initiatives, and enhanced political collaboration that will benefit our people,” Odonmeta asserted.

He emphasized that Warri Kingdom, long regarded as a commercial nerve centre in Delta South, stands to gain immensely from stronger ties with Abuja. “Warri has always been a melting pot of commerce, oil and gas activities, maritime trade, and cultural heritage. With this visit, the tempo of development will increase, and new opportunities will emerge,” he said.

Mr. Odonmeta further stressed that the warm reception accorded The First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu reflects the unity and hospitality of the Itsekiri people. He commended  His Majesty Atuwatse I11, the  Olu of Warri for organizing a reception that showcased the kingdom’s rich cultural heritage and reaffirmed its strategic importance in national discourse.

The Warri Voice Publisher also pointed out that political goodwill generated by the visit would translate into enhanced representation and inclusion in federal programmes. “Economic progress is driven by political alignment and visibility. This visit will further strengthen Delta’s voice at the centre and position Warri Kingdom for greater participation in national development frameworks,” he added.

 The gathering as expected attracted political leaders, captains of industry, senior  military personnel , The First CP Delta State traditional rulers, and youth groups from across the state, proving  the broad-based support for the First Lady’s engagement with her roots. The atmosphere was charged with optimism, cultural pride, and a renewed sense of expectation.

As the curtains fall on what many gave described as a historic homecoming, Mr. Odonmeta maintained that the true impact of the visit will soon manifest in
