FUPRE Congratulates Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom on 18th Coronation Anniversary

 

















The Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE) has extended warm congratulations to His Royal Majesty, Dr. Emmanuel Ekemejewan Sideso, Abe I, OON, JP, on the occasion of his 18th Coronation Anniversary as the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom.

In a goodwill message released on Friday, 13 February, and signed by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ezekiel O. Agbalagba, FCAI, on behalf of the University’s Governing Council, Senate, Management, Staff, and Students, the University described the monarch’s reign as a testament to visionary leadership, enduring peace, and selfless service to humanity.

The Vice-Chancellor noted that over the past eighteen years, His Royal Majesty has demonstrated uncommon wisdom, humility, and commitment to unity, cultural preservation, and inclusive development within Uvwie Kingdom, Delta State, and beyond. According to him, the monarch’s leadership has consistently strengthened communal harmony while upholding the dignity and relevance of traditional institutions.

Professor Agbalagba acknowledged the pivotal role played by the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom in the establishment and steady growth of FUPRE since its inception. He highlighted that the monarch’s commitment to fostering peace, strengthening town–gown relations, and maintaining a stable host-community environment has been instrumental in enabling the University to achieve academic excellence, advance research, and promote innovation.

Reflecting on His Royal Majesty’s broader contributions, the Vice-Chancellor noted that over the years he has also stood as a pillar of stability and a trusted partner in sustainable institutional and community development, fostering harmony and creating an enabling environment for the continued progress of both the University and the wider Uvwie Kingdom.

The University prayed that the anniversary would mark the beginning of greater achievements, deeper peace, and lasting prosperity for Uvwie Kingdom and its people, while wishing the monarch continued good health, renewed strength, and enduring wisdom for many more years of impactful leadership and service to humanity.

Until then, their report remains a reckless misrepresentation aimed at misleading the public.” PTI clarified that all its lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, and hostels are structurally sound, properly ventilated, electrically powered, and routinely maintained. The Institute prides itself on maintaining a safe and conducive academic environment for learning, innovation, and professional development in the oil and gas sector. The management in clear terms described the publication as the work of “unscrupulous elements seeking to sow discord and cast aspersions on the steady infrastructural development PTI has recorded in recent years.” As a center of excellence in petroleum training and manpower development, PTI has, under its current administration, seen remarkable transformation in terms of physical infrastructure, digital modernization, and student welfare programs. The Institute continues to attract local and international recognition for its cutting-edge research and high-impact training curriculum. While assuring stakeholders, parents, and the general public of its unwavering commitment to the safety and welfare of its students, the management reiterated its call for responsible journalism and urged media practitioners to verify facts before rushing to publication. “We remain focused on our mandate and will not be distracted by smear campaigns designed to derail our progress.”
