The College of Directors-General, Chief Job Creation Officer, and Executive Secretaries in the Delta State Government has described the conferment of Governor of the Year 2025 awards on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori by The Telegraph and Leadership newspapers as strong national validation of Delta State’s accelerating growth and strategic transformation.

In a statement issued in Asaba and signed by the College Dean and former Secretary to the State Government, Chief Patrick Ukah, fnipr, and the Publicity Secretary, Olorogun (Barr.) Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, anipr, the College said the double honour clearly reflects “purposeful governance, measurable achievements, and disciplined leadership anchored on transparency and accountability.”

The group noted that the recognition by two major national dailies underscores Governor Oborevwori’s growing reputation as a reform-driven leader committed to delivering tangible results through his administration’s MORE Agenda.

According to the statement, “In less than three years, Governor Oborevwori has redefined governance in Delta State through aggressive infrastructure renewal, expanded job and wealth creation initiatives, strengthened security architecture, improved healthcare and education systems, and deliberate human capital development.”

The College described the Governor as “the champion of a New Delta,” emphasizing that his administration has successfully combined fiscal discipline with inclusive development, thereby enhancing socio-economic stability and positioning the state prominently on the national development map.

“The awards are not merely personal recognitions for His Excellency; they represent a collective achievement for all Deltans. They affirm that the policies and programmes of this administration are yielding visible and verifiable results,” the statement added.
