KOGI GOVERNOR ODODO WINS GOVERNOR OF THE YEAR AWARD, 2025

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has been named the Governor of the Year by Democracy Newsline Newspaper for his outstanding efforts in various sectors.

The award was received on his behalf in Lokoja by the Kogi State Local Government Auditor General, Dr Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege, who commended the media organization for their work.

Dr Adabenege described Governor Ododo as a servant leader focused on citizen welfare, and pledged the administration's continued partnership with reputable media organizations to promote transparency and good governance.

The Chief Executive Officer of Democracy Newsline Newspaper, Chief Olugbemi Femi, acknowledged Ododo's achievements in infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and rural community development, including constructing primary healthcare centers across 239 wards, upgrading rural roads, and ensuring prompt payment of workers' salaries.

The award ceremony, held last year August in Abuja, had the theme: "The role of independent media organization in promoting participatory democracy and good governance in Nigeria".

Ododo's initiatives align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, positioning Kogi State as a key contributor to Nigeria's agricultural sector revolution.

He's also received the Political Personality of the Year Award and the Youth-Friendly Governor Award.

Present at the event includes the Executive Chairman, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Council, Barrister Zacchaeus Dare Michael, former House of Reps member, Hon Madaki, Hon Dele John Nihi, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youths and Students Matters and host of others
