Warri South APC Boss Richard Pessu Leads Grand Welcome for First Lady Oluremi Tinubu

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. Richard Pessu, led party faithful and key stakeholders in a grand and colourful reception to welcome Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, to the historic Warri Kingdom.

The reception, which took place at the revered palace of His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, drew political leaders, traditional chiefs, women groups, youth organizations, and party supporters who gathered in solidarity to honour the First Lady during her visit to her ancestral roots.

Describing the occasion as both historic and symbolic, Hon. Pessu said the First Lady’s presence in Warri underscores the enduring bond between the Federal Government and traditional institutions in the Niger Delta.

“This visit is not only ceremonial; it represents a reaffirmation of unity, respect for our cultural heritage, and a demonstration of commitment to grassroots development. We are deeply honoured to receive Her Excellency in the ancient and prestigious Warri Kingdom,” Pessu stated.

He commended the First Lady for her tireless advocacy for women empowerment, social welfare, and national cohesion, noting that her initiatives have continued to inspire hope across communities in Nigeria.

The Warri South APC Chairman further reaffirmed the party’s unwavering support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and aligned it with the MORE Agenda of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. According to him, the APC in Warri South remains united and committed to policies that promote sustainable development and inclusive growth.

The event was marked by vibrant cultural displays, traditional music, and royal pageantry, reflecting the rich heritage and hospitality of the Itsekiri people. Party leaders present at the occasion described the First Lady’s visit as a significant milestone in strengthening collaboration between political leadership and traditional authority in the region.

Hon. Pessu assured the First Lady of the steadfast loyalty and cooperation of APC members in Warri South, expressing optimism that her visit would further deepen peace, unity, and progress in Delta State and the broader Niger Delta.

The management in clear terms described the publication as the work of “unscrupulous elements seeking to sow discord and cast aspersions on the steady infrastructural development PTI has recorded in recent years.” As a center of excellence in petroleum training and manpower development, PTI has, under its current administration, seen remarkable transformation in terms of physical infrastructure, digital modernization, and student welfare programs. The Institute continues to attract local and international recognition for its cutting-edge research and high-impact training curriculum.
