The Baltimore County Circuit Court has delivered judgment in the case of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries USA, Inc. v. Olufunke Ashekun on March 13, 2026.

In a judgment handed down by the Circuit Court of Baltimore County, Maryland, on March 13, 2026, in the matter of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries USA, Inc. v. Olufunke Ashekun, the plaintiff successfully prosecuted its claims of defamation and false light, resulting in a binding court order against Olufunke Ashekun.

The court awarded compensatory damages in the sum of $250,000 and punitive damages in the sum of $50,000, bringing the total judgment to $300,000, in favor of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries USA, Inc.

In granting the judgment and damages, the court recognized the prolonged, intense, and malicious campaign allegedly conducted by Olufunke Ashekun against Dr. D. K. Olukoya and the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, who were seriously concerned about the reach and extent of what they described as her destructive rhetoric.

The court, by a unanimous jury decision, ruled that Funke Ashekun’s campaign negatively affected the professional integrity of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries and damaged their reputation, as widely publicized by Ashekun.

It was gathered that a day before the jury delivered its ruling, Funke Ashekun reportedly slumped in court when it became evident that the case was overwhelmingly against her, following what sources described as weak and inadmissible evidence presented in her defense. She was taken out of the courtroom by an emergency 911 ambulance.

Her husband reportedly suffered a similar incident the following day when he appeared to submit a medical report on behalf of his wife. However, the development did not prevent the jury from proceeding with its verdict.

Reacting to the judgment, a dependable source within the ministry described the outcome as a major victory.

“This is an overwhelming victory and a complete vindication of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries and their reputation, as well as that of Dr. D. K. Olukoya, the General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries,” the source said.

Speaking further, the source added:

“When lies travel for a thousand years, the truth will catch up with them in a second. Where is Ayotunde Richard? Where is Maureen Badejo? Now Funke and her husband — they have all failed.”

Quoting Esther 6:13, the source said:

“And Haman told Zeresh his wife and all his friends everything that had befallen him. Then said his wise men and Zeresh his wife unto him, ‘If Mordecai be of the seed of the Jews, before whom thou hast begun to fall, thou shalt not prevail against him, but shalt surely fall before him.’”

PTI Defends Its Reputation Against Misleading Sahara Media Report By Wilson Macaulay Effurun, Delta State July 12 2025 The Management of the prestigious Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, has vehemently refuted a sensational and malicious report published by Sahara Reporters on July 10, 2025, which alleged that students of the foremost oil and gas institution study in “flooded classrooms and snake-infested hostels” despite a ₦39 billion budget. Describing the publication as “baseless, mischievous, and an orchestrated attempt to malign the integrity of the institution,” PTI Management said the report is not only factually inaccurate but also a deliberate attack on the hard-earned reputation and progress of the institution under its current leadership. In a strongly worded statement issued on Friday, the management declared: > “There are absolutely no flooded classrooms or snake-infested hostels within the Institute. These claims are complete fabrications devoid of any evidence or truth.” Management further challenged Sahara Reporters to produce any verifiable photographic or video proof to substantiate its claims. > “If such conditions exist as alleged, Sahara Reporters should have no difficulty presenting concrete evidence. Until then, their report remains a reckless misrepresentation aimed at misleading the public.” PTI clarified that all its lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, and hostels are structurally sound, properly ventilated, electrically powered, and routinely maintained. The Institute prides itself on maintaining a safe and conducive academic environment for learning, innovation, and professional development in the oil and gas sector. The management in clear terms described the publication as the work of “unscrupulous elements seeking to sow discord and cast aspersions on the steady infrastructural development PTI has recorded in recent years.” As a center of excellence in petroleum training and manpower development, PTI has, under its current administration, seen remarkable transformation in terms of physical infrastructure, digital modernization, and student welfare programs. The Institute continues to attract local and international recognition for its cutting-edge research and high-impact training curriculum. While assuring stakeholders, parents, and the general public of its unwavering commitment to the safety and welfare of its students, the management reiterated its call for responsible journalism and urged media practitioners to verify facts before rushing to publication. “We remain focused on our mandate and will not be distracted by smear campaigns designed to derail our progress.”
