Clark Solidarity For Good Governance and the executive members of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Warri Branch, on Tuesday, March 12, 2025, paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Chief Dr. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark at his country home in Kiagbodo, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State. Bello Gachi Issa, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, announced the appointment during a press briefing at the university’s Conference Hall. He revealed that 39 candidates applied for the position, but Prof. Agbalagba emerged as the most outstanding candidate after a rigorous selection process. The Governing Council Chair emphasized that Prof. Agbalagba’s appointment followed due diligence and adherence to due process. A group under the auspices of  representatives of the Kabba Community, Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area which comprises family heads in Kogi State have petitioned the State Government, Department of State Services and the Nigerian Police force over the undue delay in the issuance of letter of appointment to one Chief Julius Arokoyo as Obadofin of Owe land. In a petition dated 28th February 2025 which was signed by 14 family heads, Traditional Rulers and four screening committee members accused the Obaro of Kabba , Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi, of allegedly attempting to impose a candidate of his choice on the community, which  is a clear violation of it established customs and traditions.
