  Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, has commended political parties and their candidates for ensuring peaceful and issues based campaigns, saying that voters apathy and violence on election day is not foreseeable in the state.   Delta State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza says the socio-economic situation of the country has become dire, advising the National Orientation Agency, NOA, to devise means of strategic orientation to ensure that citizens do not become restive on account of current economic challenges. Dr. Osuoza described the current economic hardship as capable of driving citizens into extreme restivenes. He charged the Orientation Agency to develop orientation strategies that would reassure citizens of efforts being put in place by the government to ameliorate their plight. “Some countries do not even suffer this much hardship before their citizens revolt and pour into the streets in protest.   Aggrived Nigerians who are dissatisfied with the outcome of the November 11 2023 Governorship in Kogi State stormed the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), insisting that Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) must be allowed to work in a transparent manner. The protest came amid tensions over the use of the BVAS in the Kogi State governorship election held in November last year.
